Sounds like a good deal. What trailer and what is the condition? What other options? Which engine? What is the condition of the vinyl, gel coat, covers, bimini, etc.. ? I have found on my 2007 it is the little things that add up.

Probably good there is no factory ballast. Easier to add to it.

NADA is Average retail of $39,130 and low of $34,210 but that doesn't include the trailer or any options.

    Good luck on your hunt.

I shouln't offer any support to a UTE but as a Cougar I will give you my 2 cents.

I bought an '06 last year with 140 hours with all the upgrades and no factory ballast, just a couple of v-drive fat sacs and I paid $36,000. The boat was really clean. So with that as comparison I would say that 40 is on the high side. It has been a great boat and I think you will really enjoy it.

The factory ballast was not so great in 2007, IIRC, so I think they have done you a favor there.

Although NADA is supposed to not include the trailer, it seems to me that boats seem to sell as if it did. I would think if it had lots of upgrades, and appeared to have been taken care of, that 39K would be a better than average deal with all the options. 'Upgraded stereo' means different things to different people...

Do you know how a BYU co-ed takes a bath? She fills up the tub, then turns on the water.
        Sorry, couldn't resist

There were quite a few changes between 06 and 07 from what I recall. My buddy had an 06 24Ve and his speedset was completely different (and never worked for more than a month at a time). His entire dash was different actually, pretty much exactly like my old 05 22V. I can't speak for all 06's, and certainly not trying to bash your boat, but his was in the shop more than on the water. I think he just got a bad one, as it had electrical gremlins out the wazoo. That said, I would think the differences from 06 to 07 would be enough for me to spend the extra 4k without a doubt. just my .02.

FacePlant- I didn't think you were bashing- I just wanted to give a historical perspective to the pricing since UTE and I are in the same area and when I purchased mine it was 5 years old, similar to UTE. Personally I think he should offer around 37-38K tops. But that is just MHO.

hmmmm..... 2007 24ve? That should be worth $75k! I know I wouldn't sell mine for any less than than that; and then probably still wouldn't sell it. HOwever, I'd be tempted to trade it even up for a Z3....

Good luck with buying that boat--you'll love it.

                Upgrades to consider:
Get some Enzo sacs from CHPTHRIL
Get the Jabsco Ballast Puppies and change the impellers to the green ones they sell as replacements
Get a Fresh Air Exhaust (FAE) if it doesn't already have one from Larry Mann
When you change the steering cable, get the new good Teleflex one; it works really well and lasts longer
Also consider getting a Plexiglas airdam blocker from the windshield from the floor also from CHPTHRIL

If it has a built in heater and a stereo remote on the rear transom, you'll be golden.

                good luck!

my take given Utah at times is a bit of an over priced market. 40k for a year newer boat than 25cents 06.. not a bad deal. But then again your trading hours for a year in my mind.. so might be a wash. I agree with tall on the stereo upgrade, that value might be worth more depending on what that is... meaning that alone could be a 4k upgrade given what setup has been put in it?

Sounds good to me if everything is in good condition including vinyls. Vinyls are not cheap to replace. Does it have the 6.0L? Bonus if it does.

Keep in mind that new boats are not getting cheaper. As these boats get more expensive it also drives up the cost of used boats. In our market up here a 2007 would got for 50k. Considering replacement is 90k plus.

Without seeing the boat I would say 40k is a good deal. You can always add what you want to it.
