Tige Touch Froze and Boat Slowed

While on the water yesterday I finally spent some time explaining to my wife how to adjust the ballast to clean up the wake while I'm wakeboarding. It took a little while to explain 'white is light' and how to empty ballast on the opposite side until it cleans up but she got it!

The starboard wake was a little washed on top but would clean up as I approached it. She gets a little stressed at times, especially if the river is busy so I figured she just didn't feel like adjusting it.

After riding for maybe 15min and a couple falls, I cut out on my toeside edge and cut in for a heelside jump when I started losing tension in the line. The boat slowed down from 22mph to maybe 18mph.

Of course I thought my wife did it by mistake and I kinda got on to her, asking why she slowed the boat down. She said she didn't so I had her stop the boat.

She said the Tige Touch wouldn't respond to her touching it and that it hasn't since I first started riding. She was on the ballast screen and couldn't get it to empty the port side ballast but never told me.

I had her turn the boat off and then back on, manually set the speed and TAPS and all was well.

It never acted up for the rest of the day.

    Has anyone ever experienced this?

I recall something like this happening last year.... speed set would not adjust ignored all screen touches... had to turn off the boat and reset and has never happened again.

Yes this has happened to me several times. The thing would freeze in a corner and the cruise control would keep the boat at current speed so you just never plane out of the corner. Mine also had amnesia and tends to forget that it's an rzr with surf ballast and that taps has to be calibrated...

Sounds like the problems the 09s were having with speed set locking up or not engaging or speeding up like wicked.

This thread is the biggest reason I don't want a new Tige. Touch screen should be optional.

I can't believe it took that long!

This is the only time in almost 180 hours that something like this has happened. The Pros overwhelmingly outweigh the Cons in my case.

Yah I wouldn't want to not have it.. I just want them to fix the programming issue with it... Pretty simple request. Would also be nice if someone from TIGE would chime in here.. But we wont see that either

The thing that bugs me the most is activating a user profile and then manually tweaking the ballast, speedset and TAPS based on who is in the boat in order to clean the wake and then not being able to turn the boat off.

When you turn the boat off, you have to re activate the profile which negates all the manual changes you just made.

It would really be nice if when you turned the boat back on you had a message on the screen that said, 'Maintain Previous Rider Settings? Yes or No'. Hitting Yes wouldn't just re activate the previous profile but actually maintain the last used settings until you activate another profile.

It would also be really nice to be able to save the current settings into a Profile.

When are you going to hack it Wicked?

If I was working at tige I would be crapping my pants hearing about this. If this issue would have happened seconds later, a rider could have been 10+ feet in the air riding at 23+ mph, we all know how bad you can get hurt when the boat does it job and your trick doesn't turn out right. Now imagine someone in the middle of a raley and this malfunction happens.

Even if Tige can successfully shelter itself from any form of liability, the simple possibility of this happening to you, as a boat buyer, is enough to ensure you stay far away from the brand.

I do believe its a firmware issue tho and not the program its self. Not sure tho
