Do it man! We simply put towels on all the seats and the dogs loved it. Sure clean up is a little more involved but grab another beer and enjoy the time in the boat.

I have a feeling no matter what we decide she'll end up in the boat sooner or later, it's only a matter of time lol. Dremeling her nails smooth seemed like a good solution, hadn't thought of that one.

I have a black lab and she is great on the boat until I get in the water to wakeboard and then she wants to be in the water also. No harm to our boat having her in the boat and she loves it. Be prepared to clean up the hair, and carry lots of tennis balls. It's just a boat, enjoy it.!!!

We raise guide dogs and have had labs, labradoodles, standard poodles and goldens on the boat. Still never had a nail go through the upholstery but there's still time. If you have an $80,000 boat (and it's a wake boat) I'm laughing at you, not with you because it would then be obvious that you have enough money to repair any problems in the upholstery. Live the life, don't just look like you can. Dogs ALWAYS on board.

I have a Golden and a Beagle. Both love the boat. The golden sits in the boat all day just to make sure we don't leave the dock with out him. They don't seem to cause any harm to the vinyls. Just the hair does get everywhere. Nothing a vacuum cant fix. We do often drape a towel over the edge though as they can scratch the gel coat getting out.

Our Labs always went on the boats with us. The stayed off the seats unless we but a oversize beach towel for them to walk on. In the bow the were allowed to put their front paws on the seats covered by a towel so there was no issue of the labs causing damage. They were trained as pups to only go on the seats were there was a towel in place to protect the vinyl. We had very large beach towel for the sundeck that would cover the engine and a second hatch and cover the back bench. For the short time we had our Tige it worked perfectly and on the previous boat it lasted 12 years and multiple dogs. The only issue we had was the swim platform. The original teak one was scratched from them pulling themselves out of the water. When we put the fiberglass platform on with those e's they were so hard nothing scratched them.

The only pita was drying those huge towels. We had three and we always had one hanging down at the dog or cabin after wring gallons of water out of them.

We had too much fun with the labs and their hijinks in the water to not take them. Booties did not work. The dogs would take them off within minutes. With the Tige we had two female chocolate labs one weighed 65lbs and the bigger one was about 85-90lbs. We also have two dachshund who also where on our laps or on a small towel. When the boat was moving the would hide by the drivers feet to get out of the wind and one lab would curl up by the back bench and the other lab would sit on front floor with from paws on seat cover by a towel.

Ours loves the boat, and is very obedient. That said, he does get underfoot on a crowded boat. For that reason, he is usually left to guard the yard back at the lakehouse.

I bring the Giant Schnauzer when the boat isn't going to be full. no problems with the Vinyl yet but it has crossed my mind. She goes nuts when I surf though :/ but ya, the pad on the swim deck is scratched up pretty good from nails coming back into the boat after fetching her water toy.

we have smaller dogs and they do fine love the water. Yes it is a bit of a chore to get fine white Jack Russell hair out of the carpet but theIMAG0007.jpg enjoyment of the kids and dogs is worth the extra effort!

We bring out dog on the boat every time. Would not have it any other way. Granted he is 7 lb minpin. We do dremel his nails also it works great as my wife is a vet. Be careful not to go to short as it is painful for the dog. He curls up under the helm on our tige.
