Z3/Z1 Custom Ballast Bags Group Buy

So we have been testing and working through various size custom bags for the Z3 and the new Z1. At first we were just referring people to wakemakers but have had so many problems with that, we just gave up on it.

We have completed testing on the Z3 bags and finishing on the new Z1. These bags are designed to work great for many hours and will plug and play directly into the tige pro or surf stock systems. Using these bags you will have the exact weight setup that we have in our videos since November of last year after installing the VX.

The Passenger side bag should give you about 1450 lbs filled and the driver side about 1300 lbs or so. Its tough to calculate with how the bags fit in the tight space. On the goofy/driver side the bags go all the way to the edge of the trashcan, and on the passenger side the bag is 1 foot longer, all other measurements are the same side to side. The Z1 is very similar, except that there is no trashcan to worry about. ;-)

Some of the features in the bags that we have built in after many hours of testing (we put 500 hours on our Z3 last season):
    1. Fitting locations at the tip and at the top locker locations to allow for venting of air that always occurs in these large custom bags.
    2. Extra fitting location on the top of the bag for a quick fill fitting if needed, this is VERY handy if you ever have an issue and need to hook up a manual tsunami pump.
    3. Fitting in the bottom rear of the bag that can be used to install a cross fill system like we have installed in our Z3 for quick side to side changes.
    4. Welded tie downs that mate to the same tie downs that the old stock bags use. These help keep the bags from moving as much as they would without them.
    5. Fitting locations to mate with the tige stock system, so that these bags will plug and play with the surf or pro stock system.
    6. Care in measurements to minimize the wear and tear from large custom sacs.

We used 3D software to measure, build and then test the bags to make sure everything is consistent and put in the right place. To get an idea of the shape of the bags, you can view these 3D models:

My own pair matching this exact spec will be used to create some better pics and videos which I will post.

I will be selling these bags for $675/bag ($1350/set), but for this first order I will be charging $625/bag ($1250/set). Shipping will be FREE via UPS Ground inside the contiguous US. To get into the first order, just fill out this simple form:

I will not send you a bill until they are ready to ship in about 2-3 weeks. Feel free to post any questions.

NOTE: You may need to reprop your boat for the extra weight.

    Hi Ragboy,

Will these work well for wakeboarding also? We will be surfing about 70% of the time but definitely will be doing wakeboarding as well.

You would need to only fill them partially for wakeboarding. I have done it with my custom sac. Another suggestion is to tuck the leg under so it only fills in the body and doesn't slosh around when wakeboarding.

What are the possibilities or issues with using these bags in a 24V? Even if its not perfect it seems like a pretty good deal for a big bag.

            AWESOME

We use too much storage with all the kids/family in our boat to use these, but Ragboy this is so great that you have developed this for the surf fans.

              Might be a dumb question...
Are the bags constructed in the same way as Flyhigh bags? Material, bonding agent, thickness?

Awesome, thanks. We'll be in touch.

I was wondering the same thing. As well as what the difference would be from the custom sacs that Chpthril has.

The are constructed with the same material as flyhigh, the only real difference is these are a bit rounder in the corners, where they are welded. They are well tested and exactly the same construction as the stock sacks in the Tiges, just much bigger.

As far as wake boarding, the answer given is the same as mine. You just fill them no more than halfway in the back.

The lockers are different, but they would work, they just may not be the best fit. If there was enough interest, I would measure out and build them for any boat, but I need to order 10 sets at a time to keep the cost down.

What about for the bow ? I have the stock surf system. Will this be enough with these large bags ?

Also did you have to change the prop on your boat ? Do you just re program the tige touch for these sacks ?

                        Sorry for all the questions.

The Z3 especially needs a lot of weight up front. If you use these bags, you would not get the best results unless you added another 400 lbs or so in the front on top of the surf front setup.

Do you sell or recommend where to get the 400lb bag for the front ?

If Ragboy doesn't sell them Chpthril probably does and he is a great guy to work with.
