Wanted to verify what I thought were diodes coming off of the drain pump leads. And if there are diodes what are they there for? If I remember correctly there was a double lead coming off of the drain pump spade at the panel, one of which had a diode on it. So I wanted to verify if what I saw was correct and then what is the purpose of that second lead with the diode on it.
I was having issue s with fuses blowing on blower and bilge. I was sent some diodes to add to those circuits as well in series. I believe anything with a coil of wire can produce the voltage spike.
Would a blown fuse on the blower make it not come on with the key automatically? I can manually turn mine on and off with the switch under the dash but for some reason it doesn't turn on automatically like before.
That seems like a likely culprit. I think its the power panel that actually turns it on with the key.. Just an FYI if your blower just happens to stop working all together be aware that there is another fuse in that rats nest of wires under the dash that can blow. Just follow the wires and you should be able to find it. That one took me many, many, many hours to discover when mine stopped working, I thought it was a bad Blower. You may also want to look into getting a diode on that one.... I can't confirm it actually fixed my issue yet but the initial testing looked promising. Your dealer should know about the fix.
Yeah, the diode fix has not been done yet but will be the next time I take it in for service in a couple weeks.
I checked the fuse (7.5A if I remember) with the key on and as soon as I went to grab it, the blower came on. I wiggled the fuse a bit and could get the blower to turn on and off. I pulled it and reseated it and the blower worked as it should all day.
I may need to just replace the fuse, clean the contacts good and will probably spray them with some CRC for electrical contacts.
