I just sold my 04 Switch I and in the market for a new Tige. The most important thing to me is a decent wakesurf wake. I'd like to be about $35k and that's been putting me in the 05-07 22ve and 24v,ve. I like the idea of a 24 but worried about the weight while towing. Thoughts, input?

We had had our '06 22VE for 2 years now and absolutley love it. We just replaced our 400# rear locker sacs with custom 1100# and are just now trying to dial in our wakesurf wake. I was trying to make the very same decision two years ago and am very happy with the 22VE. I tow the boat with a 2011 F250 Super Duty with the diesel and I have no complaints. I will probably start some trouble with my next statement. I would not attempt to pull a 22Ve or 24Ve with a 1/2 truck. Will it pull it? Yeah it will but if you are towing the boat any distance or over hills it could do damage to your drivetrain over the long term. Also in the year model range your looking for Tige did offer PCM engines and I would recommend trying to find one with the PCM Engine upgrade. Just my 2 cents.

Just pulled an 07 22Ve from Seattle to Edmonton (900 miles) with an 06 F-150. No problems whatsoever, and it handled the mountain passes very well, better than I expected. The boat/trailer come in well below the towing capacity of the truck, and based on some of the holiday trailers guys are pulling with half ton trucks, I wouldn't let the towing weight be an issue at all with the 22Ve.

I've seen a couple 24V's here in the Northwest for sale in the $30 to $35k range. I really like mine, but it does take some weight to get a huge wave. I've got the factory ballast, and two 1100lb bags. I find its easy enough o leave one bag full, and move the other. I'm 6'4", and my wave is waist high! Plus, more room inside!

Here are some pics of our 24V wake. I only hope our z3 will be able to push a wake this big. Once dialed this wake is a monster. We havesuccessfully surfed 3 riders at a time.2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3
2013 Tige Z3, 2004 Tige 24V (Legen....dary)

I agree with going with a Ve. I was looking at both and about got a V. I then was looking at a 2006 Ve and learned that the 2007 had some differences, can't remember them all but that pushed me to a 2007. One was accuset versus speedset.
Here are some ads from KSL, you may have already seen them. I know your budget is around $35K, I would guess for a decent Ve you are going to be closer to $40K or over. If you look long and hard you might find one less, but may end up putting money in it any ways to end up in the $40k's.

Do not get a 2006 24Ve with the first rollout of Tige's cruise control. It is pretty lame. My work partner has a 2006 and you cannot retrofit it with Perfect Pass. If it has the PCM engine, it would be OK, but those were the minority, most have MP engines in that year.
Dan, wasn't John tossing around the idea of selling his (my old) boat? That would be a pretty sweet boat for the utemeister.
This is the boat you do not want: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218...tige&ad_cid=11
He says it has Perfect Pass...but it has the Tige cruise. There is no digital readout, and a tiny light at the pad that tells you when it is engaged. No beep either to let you know it is engaged. Some wives will never figure it out. And when it breaks, you need a new keypad that will eventually go the way of the dinosaur. Then you won't ever be able to outfit any cruise control to it.Last edited by talltigeguy; 04-22-2013, 03:15 PM.Be excellent to one another.

Excellent guys, this is exactly what I was looking for. Needs a little work, but this seems like a good deal. Although does this have Tige Cruise?
