    Convex VX almost delivered !!

I just spoke to my dealer today and he says that the Convex VX for my 2012 Z3 should be ready to ship in the next couple weeks !

I'm really hoping it arrives before I take delivery of the boat !!

Sounds like Tige is ahead of the original promise date of late summer/early fall

Did you have to buy a new swim platform? I've just heard I'll have to change the platform on my '13 Z1 if I want to add the convex vx

Yes it comes with a new swim platform and from what I understand you have to give the old one back or pay an additional $150.00 core charge.

I thought about keeping the old one but then I thought when will I ever need it.

I would keep it for a while just in case. You could also sell it to another one of the guys here who fabricate stuff all the time and may need one.

I am sure you are excited for the upgrade!

Out of curiosity, does anybody know if the brackets are spaced the same between the 2012's and the 2011's? I was hoping that if the bracket spacing is the same, I would order the new swim grid and CVX and get my own mounts built. Keeping my fingers crossed!

              RZ Dano,

Thats a tricky question, better off calling the Factory and speaking with them direct.

Thanks Allen - that is probably the safest bet.

Well I received the convex VX and new swim platform last week. I installed it over the weekend and let me say that if you are going to purchase one for your boat after it has left the factory ensure that you have 4-5 hours, drill bits, taps and a couple buddys to help hold it and mark the location for all the brackets.

The swim platform and convex vx both come un drilled/tapped. I am happy with the install but definitely longer than I had thought.

Anyone have any tips on how to weight a Z3 for surfing with the convex VX ?

Thanks. It took the most time due to the fact that I am a Perfectionist and had to measure, check, measure check before drilling into the swim platform and convex VX.

I didn't take any pictures during the install but do have some of the final result. I will upload them sometime this week when work slows down.

I took it out for a couple hours yesterday and couldn't produce the same wave as prior to the VX install. My boat only has the surf ballast package so I think I may need some more weight. Hoping someone with a Z3 and the VX will chime in.

There was a post recently either on here or WW. I think it was the one with all the pics from one of the big surf guys. Anyway he stated that it took more weight with the VX to produce the same wave, most likely because of the increased surface area. So more than likely you are going to need more weight.

No need for more weight if adding the VX... it just allows you the option to add more if you'd like...it will enhance your wave either way...go to wake9.com and look of Ragboys setup....enjoy!

I've gone to wake9.com but can't find his setup.
