Surfgate style tabs on my 24v or not. Thoughts?!

Thats awesome. Is it attached to the hull at all or is it supported completely by the bracket that is attached to the swim platform? I was thinking of something very similar but I wasnt sure how to attach it without putting a bunch of screws/bolts into my transom.

I think yours should be tall enough. Our hulls are obviously different but the top of mine was just below swim platform just like yours is and it seemed to work pretty well.

It has one bolt going thru the platform mount were the R pin was that secures the swim platform. Had to drill the hole out just a touch for a 1/4" bolt to go thru. Then the U clamp around the swim platform bracket. If it works well thru a lot of testing I will weld up and powercoat a final version and drill thru the transom and mount it solid. That would make the package even smaller and sleeker. But need lot of testing before I go that far. For a prototype I went a little overboard but I wanted to see if the retraction method would work or not. And to see if it cause any spray when not in use, which I dont think it will.

Ran accross this and thought it was interesting. Their wake looked very good but still have to list it over. Always wondered what it would do to have a shaped plate back there. Forgot to mention its on a Centurion

Well ready for Saturday I think, only one way to find out. My only this is if I made the plate tall enough but with the shape of the hull thats about as tall as I could go without making a steped plate.

I'm thinking of doing mine much like the NSS in that I want it to actuate at an angle so that it goes out ~2" and also down ~2 1/2", filling the spray pocket area.

Covering the spray pockets offer an advantage with a nss I think, just little harder to get it to actuate out to cover them. Be interesting to see what you come up with. Be nice to have a little more room in that area but just not a lot of space to work with.

Ya, me too. I'm working on the design in my head still. I was hoping to be testing this weekend but, I've just been too busy to get something together. I still have a few minor projects to finish first.

Full level ballast but only 2 people in boat. Normally I have about 6-8 so a little light on weight but I'm impressed

It does look promising. How much ballast are you running?

I definitely like the spray or, lack thereof. That's completely doable. The big surfgate tabs seem to be much more prone to lots of spray.

I only had 200# under rear seat then 2-350#s on each side of the motor pushed all the way back to the seat. Then just me and my wife when I took the pics. So an additional 3-400# been a lot bigger. No spray is very nice. The surf gate I tried sprayed my rear seat it was so bad. I need little more testing but this is the way to go. Plus no steering effects at all. The retract meathod works perfectly.

Very nice. I surfed mine over the weekend and couldn't be happier with it. Like I mentioned before I am not an expert surfer coming from a DD Supra but the pocket was much longer with a lot more push than anything I had ever been on. I have to fix my platform bracket issues but hopefully soon I will have a permanent version on both sides.

had 3 extra people in the boat this weekend. No pics but huge difference in the wake. Had 2 sititing on back corner so ~420#s, plus one on the observer seat ~170#. Still maybe a little tweaking but I went wireless for the first short time Water was still pretty rough with the strong wind so that didnt help.

Good stuff. Other than an early cruise over to get breakfast we tried to avoid the lake with all of the crazies over the holiday weekend. I did manage to get my swim platform bracket fixed and more permanent NSS contraption installed.

Did some more riding this weekend. NSS plate prototype is well worth it. I still need to add about 300# to my rear locker and 200# to the bow to get the full push I want out of it (had 2-350#s on sides, 2-100#s under rear seat and 2-200# guys on rear seat). Had a goofy foot friend out this weekend and with ballast level and everyone on one side we couldnt get half the wake without the NSS plate. So I need to quit messing around and build my real one outa steel. The wood I have now swells a bit and makes moving plate in and out little tough. But Im sold on it. Course me riding I didnt get any pics.
