I wish I could find a schematic of how the actuall actuators work. WTF is going on inside them thar thangs? I can't figure out the motor/gear arrangement. It would seem to me to be some sort of rack & pinion set up. Anybody? You'll get your chance, smart guy.

the slick way to use the penta tabs would be to mount them at a 45* angle across the transom corners, and then make a "blade" that mirrors the transom ala NSS. Then when you deploy the tab, it deploys both under the hull and to the side, just like NSS. That of course assumes a non-stepped hull back there.

I tilted my surf gate to match the upper part of the hull and the bottom of the spray pocket vs just a vertical surfgate. But havent got to test it yet to see how that will affect everything. We just dont have a lot of room back there to work with for any type of actuator.
Correction
I stayed above the spray pocket with the surf gate but it is angled with the hull.Last edited by Ruger761; 05-01-2013, 07:07 PM.

I've heard how some people are talking about how the surfgate of NSS helps clean up their wake. I am curious that this may be due to the counter steering to stay straight while towing. For example, surfing port side the surfgate will be deployed on the starboard side. This makes the driver turn left. Depending on the boat turning left will help clean up the wave but not increase size.
Any thoughts on this?
Could this help Enzo's goofy side?
