I agree with the on water orientation but disagree that all boats should be delivered with a "coast guard pack" if a deal is worked to include such a thing that's one thing but requiring it? Not sure I understand that but we come from different areas too.

Since the CG is a federal entity, they really do not have any in-state jurisdiction. Now, if a lake crosses state lines, they have jurisdiction on the water. Off the water, pertaining to the sale of the boat, dont think they can say much.
Now, I think its a nice jester on the part of the dealer to try and make sure the boat is water legal, up to 4 adults as thats typically the number of adult sized horse-collars in the package, regardless of whether its truly eaten cost wise by the dealer or if its factored in.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Hmm, perhaps its not required of a dealer here. I guess I just figured it was. I do know you have to carry that stuff. I also carry a rule book. That always goes over well with the authorizes. They like that. At the beginning of the season, I'll usually pull over the first Sheriff boat I see and ask for the most current boaters handbook. That usually ensures getting nothing more that a wave from him for the rest of the season. I'll actually do that whenever we switch lakes or hit one for a vacation. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Our family has purchased 4 boats in Colorado. 1 of them came with this "package" and it was the Tige. 3/4 were brand new so I am going to go out on a limb and say it isn't required by law. The law does require you to have those things on board but the non-Tige dealer sure as heck didn't include them.
