    Introducing User Infractions

    Introducing User Infractions

I have introduced a new feature called "User Infractions".The User Infraction system is designed to automate the management of misbehaving users. Users have the option to take action against members for the following reasons:
    • Insulted Other Member(s)
    • Inappropriate Language
    • Signature Rule Violation
    • Received harassing Private Messages
    • Spammed Advertisements

Each infraction is based on a 1 point system:

10 combined points and your member privileges are reduced. You can view threads but you cant post or reply to them.
15 combined points and your user account is banned for 6 months.

To give infractions to problematic users you have two options.
    1. Go to their user profile, click on "Infractions", then click on "Give Infraction" (top right corner)
    2. When viewing a thread click on the icon underneath the users post.

    Please feel free to discuss.

    Thanks,
    Matt

This will get abused in my opinion. I don't think users should be able to issue infractions. Only moderators.
    Waiting for another good one!

Sounds like a great opportunity for foul play.

A moderation feature without a brain.

I'm doomed!!!! Boat sunk before I ever stepped foot in it.

There are checks and balances so that it doesn't get abused but then again it has already been abused and I have had the feature live for less than an hour. I will give you one giant guess on who's already abusing it.

I am open for ideas and I am continuing to refine it.

Now we need a new shortcut link at the top of the page, or maybe a drop down menu under "what's new" with a link to "newly issues infractions"

Kinda like the police blotter. It'll be fun.

Whats funniest is he didn't even receive an infraction.
