    R20 upgrades

    Hello,

I am looking to do some upgrades to my boat this year and I am needing some suggestions. I bought this boat last year and it is my first boat and until I got the boat I had never tried wakeboarding or wakesurfing. The boat is a R20 with the 303hp motor, stock ballast with wakemaker 750 piggyback sacs, 4 stock in boat speakers with a Alpine head unit.

What I would like to do before summer is

    1. Add a tilt out trash can like the bigger boats have
    2. Tint the windows( is it better to remove them to have them tinted or can they do it in boat?)
    3. Air dam( Is the somewhere to buy one or someplace to get the parts and build it yourself?)
    4. Surfboard pockets in the bimini( I only have two position non-swivel board holders. I would like to add swivel holders but they seem to be extremely expensive)
    5. Add a subwoofer and two tower speakers( Not sure what amp or speakers I would need, just looking for better sound not looking to be a hero)
    6. Add seadeck to the walktru transom like the new R20's ( do I have to buy it thru the dealer?)
    7. Add ballast to the stock front 400lbs. (Not sure if I need it, or if it is my lack of ability. I still cant go wireless. I am 235lbs and really couldn't tell you what a properly set up wave looks like so that might be the problem.)
    8. A good polisher so I give the boat its first waxing

talk to chpthril or go to mikesliquidaudio.com and give him a call.

Correct, if you want one with a Tige logo, SeaDek wouldn't sell you the OEM piece. But, if you can live with a plain slab of SeaDek, or if you want your own design in it, then SeaDek is happy to send you a packet onto which you mark a template for the piece. So you can get SeaDek direct. Just not the OEM piece.

For your front ballast you are going to be about out of room underneath the seats. The stock 400 pretty much fills the space. You might add some lead with the space left. Anyone added more hidden water weight up front in an R20/RZR?

I replaced the 1 400lb front nose sack with 2 400lb fly high sacs. They dont fill all the way up but i reckon you get about 300lb in each.

I didnt do it so much for the extra weight but more so that i could fill each side separately.

Simple upgrade as the pumps are all ready in place to do it....just had to tap into the vent/drain hose.

You will definitely want to add weight to the bow, it will lengthen your surf wake. I currently have a 280# sac I add to the surf side bow when we are riding.

              3) I done them for a number of other Tige owners, so let me know if you have any questions.

5a Sub) Mild to wild, how much are you looking for. This is in terms of bass output and budget for parts and labor.
5b Tower Speakers) what are your listening goals for tower speakers? Strictly surfing, strictly wake-boarding or a mix of both? Also, factor in your budget for a proper amp, install labor if needed as well as the install incidentals that go along with an install. Lots of stereo options, just need to some qualifiers before making any suggestions.

              7) a 750 sac in the rear will net you about 500 lbs on top of the stock 250 lb in-floor tank. This is plenty to give you a good surfable wake. @ 235 lbs, I would look at the board and possibly refining your technique. Those with RZR's and R20's can offer more detail about fine tuning the wake, but I think what you have is surfable.

Mike, do you sell the air dam or the parts? Also for the sub and amp I am looking for mild, a nice quality sound in the boat. For tower speakers it would be nice to hear it wakeboarding but so far I have been mainly surfing. I don't want something that is obnoxious for people in the boat when I am surfing. I will probably do the install myself, just order all of the parts and maybe a cheat sheet on how to hook it all up.

Zach I am sure you can get the wind/ air dam thru Tige parts from your dealer.
