Tige Cruise Pad.jpgGood morning everyone, I wanted to ask the question here because I know there are some intuitive and experienced minds on this board. The Tige' Cruise Touch Pad on my boat started going at the end of season last year, so before I closed it up I removed it from the dash n hopes of taking it apart and seeing what was up with it. The whole unit is sealed with resin and this season it does not work at all. I called the dealer and they want $1,200 for this part which I think redefines theft! Has anyone had any experience with this touchpad or does anyone have one they would be willing to sell because of an upgrade to a different cruise system. Thank you for your time, consideration, and thoughts.

I'll mention this again here: I was once a Project Engineer for the largest keyboard manufacturing company in the world and worked on keyboards and keypads like this when they were first being developed. If anyone has one of these units they're willing to sacrifice, I'm willing to spend some time to see if it's possible to refurb them. PM me if/when the opportunity arises!

With the cruise control off, you should be able to use the up and down buttons on the speedset control to scroll through various display options. Does this function still work? If it does you might be looking at the wrong culprit for your problem. Just a thought...
Keep us posted as I have an 07 22Ve and would very much like to know what you find out.
Good luck!

The Speedset touchpad failed in my 2006 22Ve last summer and I was faced with a $1500 bill ($1250 for the part). The dealer said the part is sensitive to moisture. How crazy is that!
Finding this rather unacceptable, and finding others with the same issue, I sent the dealer an email nicely asking them to approach Tige for some assistance. $460 of assistance later (thank you Tige), I was back on the lake enjoying my cruise control...as mediocre as it is. Tige required the old part back.
I have since found a more affordable source for a factory replacement part so I will try that route next time. If you want to know more about this source, PM me.
