Does anyone know if the prop shaft support arm bearing is water lubricated, sealed or what the maintenance is? I would expect something in the owners manual for periodic maintenance. I was unwinterizing my boat and had the engine running with a fake-a-lake running water for the engine. I thought I would engage the propeller shaft slightly and boy did it make an awful dry rusty squealing noise! I brought it to the lake and put it in the water and engaged the prop and it sounded just fine. Did the water lubricate the bearing as stupid as that sounds?

My ol lady wrapped the wakeboard rope up in my prop last year and I had to get towed in. I got it on the trailer and pulled it out and cut the rope out. I started the boat and slowly put it into gear, and immediately thought the trnny was f'd. I drove it 2 hours bak home on Friday night and took it to a shop, where they couldn't get to it for a few weeks. Got on here and posted and someone said to squirt that shaft seal with water. I brought it home and did that, and problem solved!! Talk about feeling like a idiot!!! Lesson learned the hard wayAin't no 1/2 steppin'
