No worries, our marina's all have premium fuel on the water so that's a big plus in our area. Octane booster depending on the type is relatively pointless because they basically only raise the octane a few points. One that I've found to work well and am a fan of personally is Torco because its not an octane booster but a unleaded concentrate. The 550xs is not a cheap option I think as mentioned its 15k+ for the upgrade. Also mentioned the cooler is mounted in the bow of the Rz2 and Rz4 the only difference is the small portion left open compared to the z3.

Torco has nice charts for amount to use according to base octane and target octane. If I did have a boat engine requiring high octane and had problems finding such gas, I would keep those charts and a bottle of Torco handy.

Having an RZ4....I could NEVER fit into a RZ2.....way too puny.
If they made an RZ5....it would be time to sell the RZ4 and upgrade.
With that said, if you want a bigger boat go buy a G25 mister elite.Waiting for another good one!

I guess trailering and storage are not an issue? If they are then the RZ2 is surprisingly big for its size, however, I do like the size of the RZ4. Last spring I got a ride on Dingleberrys RZ4 before I pulled my boat out of storage. The first 2 trips on my RZ2 I felt like it was really small and I needed to upsize. After that I got used to the size again and had a few trips with other families and kids and there was plenty of room.
I really like the size of my RZ2 for trailering and storage. I keep it in my garage and the RZ4 would force one of my vehicles out of the garage, and thats a no-go here in the winter. Also it's just a little easier to maneuver in tight spots like gas stations on the way to the lake, and some lake parking lots I go to are tight, I sometimes have one of the biggest boats on a trailer in the parking lot.
If I had a bigger garage, or lived on a lake I would probably up-size to a Z3 or RZ4, but my RZ2 is just the right size for me. The only real way to see for yourself is to get on the water and test drive all 3 and see which one your wife likes best. I have a feeling she will pick the RZ4 or Z3.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

I orginially started using Torco for snowmobiles the new Ski doo 800etec requires premium fuel but have had situations where when filling up only 87 is available and the ECM if it detects detonation will knock timing and put the motor into limp mode until it goes away. The older sleds we could just add Av gas or race fuel but now most of those contain lead which these (snowmobile) motors absolutely do not like. Great product will raise the octane rating a considerable amount with 8oz might be a possibility for boat owners when the only option is 87 octane and 91+ is required.

Make sure you measure the width of the sortage area too, I was traveling somewhere for a month and rented a storage area which was 11' wide by 35' long. Should have been G2G but the door was not that wide and it was impossible to get my boat in the bay. I had to scramble and find a bigger shed that was 14' wide with a 10' wide door.
Anyway, it sounds like you are close to picking the RZ4. Congrats, it's a great boat, you guys will have some great times on it. Make sure you get the extended bimini for it, it's just about requried in TX, I used to live in Del Rio.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

Didn't realize the Z3 cooler went further up. Learn something new on here every day.

Plus, you'd get a tour of the factory and be able to see all those options you're considering right up front and personal. Plus real-life color examples, etc. The list is endless. And we'd love to see photos from your trip!
Just an idea....

I'm sure that will happen. We've got property an hour north of Abilene so I'm up there on a regular basis for that and stop in Abilene to visit old family friends. Figure I'll just combine my trip to the factory with one of those trips. Not really worried about color samples. Probably going with just black and white and maybe a touch of graphite.
