    Adding a third battery

I have done some looking around, and have not found the answer im looking for.
Im putting together the plans to add another deep cycle battery to my 2011 RZ2.
It looks like there is room on the drivers side rear next to the Taps pump.
The problem i see is the plastic line coming out the pump going to the actuator is in the way..
I have thought about cutting the line and turning the pump the other way so the line comes out the other side.
I have all so thought about making something out of wood to raise the pump up so the plastic goes over the top of the battery.
Also the fitting where the line goes into the pump was leaking alittle.
I will try and get a picture up tomorrow.
My question- whats the best way to go about moving the taps pump over, and or out of the way?

Lets see a pic to get a better idea of what you are talking about.

This sounds like a nightmare of a job but the end results if worth it. We have 8 batteries.

IIRC, you can purchase that trim tab tubing by the foot for repairs. I would suggest using a single piece, longer or shorter as needed, rather then cutting and putting in any kind of splice. Other then that, no issue with what you want to do. Just dont kink the line in any way.

Got a picture. What do you yall think is the best way to relocate this pump to fit a group 29 battery next to it. These dang pictures keep turning on me,, sorry about that!taps.jpg

While not the same boat, I had the same situation. I just moved the pump as far outboard as I could. There was enough slack to make the move and left plenty of room to fit a battery next to the pump. I see you are from Roanoake, what lake do you use? We are on Bridgeport, or what is left of it at 16 feet low!!

The problem i have with moving it outboard is the line is like an inch from touching the outboard wall. I think i will need to cut about 8-10" off the end of the line, and turn the pump so the line comes out to the inboard side, and route it behind the new battery. But i really dont wanna cut that damn line!?
Bridgeport, i miss that lake! My ex-father inlaw had a place out there, but the new wife doesnt wanna go out there, because of that.. Lol, women! I know that lake very well, i noticed it was like 15ft low a month or two ago, and that sucks! Can you use the low water ramp near runnaway bay? We go to Worth alot because its close (2.75' low, and 1 more ft and its unuseable). We also spend alot of time at the river near Whitney, and its about 9ft low (2 more feet and its unusable). We need lots of rain! Doing my rain dance now!

We moved mine pretty far left and may have rotated it in my RZR. I'll see if I can get some pics. I have the Group 24 starting battery there and a Trojan 12V golf cart battery there which is slightly wider and taller than a Group 29 battery.

Houstonshark, thanks for the ideas, and some pics would be helpful.

I simply moved my TAPS pump when necessary. It doesn't have to sit "straight" or "square". I did make sure it was level with the hull stringers, but otherwise I think you can orient it any way you wish. I would definitely consider cutting/changing that hydraulic line my last resort.
