    Hull Hole, now what?

So I picked up my Tigé today after some upholstery work was completed. While looking it over I noticed that one of the screws had pressed through the hull just below water line. They felt awful and said to go get it fixed and send them the bill. The owner recommended a shop that does fiberglass and gel coat work.

My question is, what do you guys know about who or how this should be completed? Any info will help.

    Thanks,

That's not too bad, a good fiberglass shop will be able to fix that. I had some serious damage from a storm that pulled a floating dock loose and slammed it into the side of my boat. 3k later (from the insurance company) and the boat was better than new.

A friend of mine knocked a softball sized hole right in the side of their new boat. A local glass guy made it completely dissappear. That was six years ago and you still can't tell it ever happened. Fiberglass is very forgiving that way. Make sure you find a reputable glass guy and it'll all be overwith and you'll more or less forget about it.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Chit happens and thats not bad at all an easily repairable by a marine repair shop. But, the length of and location of the screw that caused needs to be addressed first.

Your right cheapthril! Someone didn't do the math! I seen a boat at Best Buy getting a system installed, and did the same exact thing.

a good rule of thumb on gel work is typically whatever you think its going to cost, double that, and that's about how much it'll be lol.
Rough guess id say the shop will be paying 3-350 for that mess up.
