Hey guys. Not new to the forum but new to posting (take it easy on me). Had a the 2005 brochure 22v bought from the factory after the photos were done but just upgraded to a new Z3. Delivery on the Wednesday, 3-27. Haven't even had it in the water. Waiting for a little less wind here in Dallas. Considered some other brands at the boat show but the Z3 was way too cool! DSC01195.jpgThe forum really helped me when I was looking at options. Thanks for the informative posts.

Really hoping to get some surfing in this summer. Something we just didn't get done on the 22v. Anybody got suggestions for ballast setup. Got the surf ballast option. Also, looking at a CWB Binz board. A couple of guys at the local shop said they really liked it. We are capable beginners and athletic fast learners. Opinions?
Thanks.

Congrats on your new Z3. Nice looking boat.
There are some threads on here that talk about the set up for the Z3. Maybe check out wake9.com, he may have the information listed there.
As for the board, I haven't heard of that one, but just looked it up (CWB Benz) and it is a skim board. I would check out Soulcraft, TWP, IS, or others. You might even hook up with Allen Kendall, Squidswake.com to test out a variety of boards.

We are out at Pier 121 in Lewisville. I keep saying I am going to try other lakes but our location is close and easy: and i know where all the stumps are.
We are hoping to spend a little time up by Little Elm this summer when they open the new cable park which is supposed to have a dock on the lakeshore where you can walk up.
I swa the above post on the board. Can anyone define what a skim board is? We already have an older Tsunami board but it seems pretty much just for cruising and some light turns. But we are surf beginners so I'm not real sure.
And thanks for the compliments on the boat. Looks amazing in person!

Thanks. To me, it seemed like the one boat that can do it all from ski- surf. I still have family members who slalom but I can't figure that thing out. I might as well tape a 2x4 to my feet. I'm getting a little older and have some orthopedic miles on me so I wanted to try surfing for a little less wear and tear. The real big factor for me though was TAPS. I looked at malibu but that wedge thing looks a bit hokey and I don't think you can use it on the fly. TAPS works great on a big lake where you have to use it like trim when the chop picks up. MC and CC. Really. I have kids to put through college soon, no thanks. Agree with assessment: Best boat for the money.

A skim is a loose term. There are two types of wakesurf boards, surf and skim. Surf wakesurfboards are designed and built much like ocean surfboards. Skimboards are the little thin ones you see at the beach (ocean) where they run, throw the board out in front of them and then jump on. In wakesurfing, a skim type board is thin, light and usually has a single small trailing fin. I dont think you can go wrong on the lakewakes skimmer group buy. Excellent board to have on any boat and its nearly half of what you would normally pay. Should be a great board for anyone 200# or less.
Congrats on the boat. She is purty. You'll get your chance, smart guy.
