    Looking at RZR or RZ2

I'm thinking of getting a RZR or a RZ2. I currently have a Axis A-20 but wanted a boat with a few more options and the Tige looks sick. Talking to a few people about the Tige has got me worried about the wakeboard wake. From what I here it's fine at speeds over 20. I have kids and a wife that ride a lot at 18 or below. Is this true? Any info or pics would help a lot.

I have never been on an axis to compare the wakeboard wave but I have a RZR and the wakeboard wave is pretty good at 16-19mph. You have to learn how to adjust the ballast and the taps to figure out what your best set up is.

Axis wake is the same as the Malibu. I like it. So the Tige wake isn't as touchy as people are making it out to be? Also interested in any must have options. Don't want to forget any thing if I order.

I would get the surf or pro ballast package, if you dont get tower speakers atleast make sure its prewired for tower speakers. I would probably also get the convex vx upgrade also to help shape the wake better. I might consider the 409 motor for the RZ2 but the 343 has plenty of power with lots of ballast on the rzr.

The PTM edge 180* mirror. The poseidon flooring. The new clamping racks.A Heater if you will go out on cool mornings. The pro ballast is the best option for wakeboarding and surfing. Also a third cleat on each side for docking is very helpful. The soft sided cooler is great to bring to the back of the boat when eating off the back.A extended Bimini top is nice if you will be out in the sun all day with your children. The 343 is fine for me in Va.,depending on your elevation you may want a larger engine, but many on here have done fine with the 343.Hope this helps!
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

In my RZ2 the wakeboard wake does not clear up till 20.6mph (never checked speed with a GPS tho), and taps set on 3-4. My crew just had to learn to ride faster, after owning 2 Malibu's.
My 343 engine has more power than the Maliu's had!
Oh and the wake on the RZ2 is alot steeper, and the surf wave is 10x's better, and gets better fuel mileage! Oh and it handle like a dream!!
I loved both the Malibu's i had, but the RZ2 is a better proforming boat in every aspect of boating!

We had an Axis A22 before the RZ2. You will certainly lose the super clean wake and slower speeds. Now are your wife and kids going w2w at 18mph? If so this could be an issue. If not it isn't going to matter. I slowly bumped my wife up without telling her until she now rides 22mph. I think a lot of times it gets in wives and kids heads the speed they are going. If they don't know they have been bumped up they tend to do just fine. That is my experience at least.

If you have any specific questions you want answered between the A22 and the RZ2 just let me know.

                Thoughts?

                @Bruizza -

and/or anyone else with experience with axis and tige

Just curious what your thoughts are on the Axis A22 wakeboard and Surf wake vs. the RZ2 that you currently own. I'm currently trying to decide between a couple different boats and both Tige RZ2 and possibly 2013 new Z1 are on my list but have also heard good things about Axis wakeboard wake. just thought i would get your input since you have owned both. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

I have a buddy who is a semi-pro wakeboarder who just sold his Axis last year. He rides behind my Z3 a lot and says he prefers the wake.

Also, another friend of ours has an RZ2 and loves his wakeboard wake. He is also a very avid wakeboarder. i reached out to him and he has not ridden behind an Axis.

If I had to ride above 18mph for wakeboarding then no one that we ride with would go as most are beginners and dont like going 20mph

cant speak to the RZ2. But for sure on my RZ4 have to be above 20 to get a clean wake. 18 is pretty washed out. especially with any weight in the boat.

Axis is definitely not the best surf wake. Great for wakeboarding. Just not many options, and the price keeps creeping up. That's why we are thinking of getting a Tige. Why pay 60k when I can pay a little more and get a lot more.

Wife and kids are going W2W yet. They just enjoy the slower speeds. That's kind of why I was thinking it would be fine that we couldn't always go the slower speeds

So does the convex vx help with the wakeboard wake as well as the surf wake?

                              No.

You started asking about wakeboard wakes, and guys are telling you what mirror to get. You got sidetracked when you asked about what other options you needed.
                              Be excellent to one another.
