Can anybody tell me if the code reader below will work for a Marine Power 6.0? I have found several threads on the subject but I still cant figure out if this will work for my motor. I was also having trouble finding the interface connector. Is it near the ECM? I found one plug there but it had 12 pins (2 rows of 6) and it didnt look similar to anything I could find online.

What year is your 6.0l , 2006 is the last mefi 4 system , then it goes to mefi5.

I bought that system. I have a mercruiser, but they wanted the serial number off of my ECU to make sure I got he correct one. Have you called them?

I think my motor is newer than an 06 but honestly I am not certain. It was replaced sometime in the last couple of years before I bought it and while I was told the new motor was brand new at that point but I cant be sure. I was supposed to get all of the paper work from the swap but unfortionately that never happened. Shouldnt there be a stamping or a plate somewhere on the engine to identify it? I looked all around but couldnt find anything.

I havent called them yet but I will today. I took a picture of the ECM and its serial number last night so I will see what they say.

After looking through that site some more I am convinced I have MEFI5. Below is a link to the MEFI5 adapter cable plus a picture of my connector. Sucks that the price jumps up to $350 for MEFI5.

Does the ECM have 2 harness plugs or 3 , 2 is MEFI4 , 3 is MEFI5 .

It has 3 so I guess that confirms it is MEFI5. At 350 bucks for the mefi5 reader I may just pay the dealer to scan it for me.
