Hi Everyone,
I thought that I would introduce myself since I have been a member of the forum since last year, and have not made a single post at all! I purchased SPBfan's 2005 24V in May of 2012, and have loved the boat since the first day that Andrew took me out onto the lake. I know that he misses his boat, but I have enjoyed it more than all of my other toys.
I live in St. George, UT., and I am pretty sure that there are a couple of other guys on the forum that live here as well. I have not taken the opportunity to get to know anyone, and I am trying to do something about that now.
Generally we only use the boat at Lake Powell. We have a houseboat there, and usually make three to four trips there per year. It is our favorite place to be, and have been going there for the last 25 years. Every once in a while we will take it out to Quail Creek or Sand Hollow, but Powell just makes everything else pale in comparison.
I am a helicopter mechanic, so I am no stranger to maintenance. My boat had been taken care of very well by Andrew, and it has been mostly trouble free on our trips to Powell. Our last trip in September was an exception, and a very long story, but we still had a great time and love the boat! A couple of months ago I went through the boat and changed the impeller, engine oil and filter, the fuel filter, transmission fluid and v-drive fluid. It was a learning experience to say the least. But it helped me get to know the boat a bit better.
It is great to know that there are so many people out there that care about their boats, and are willing to help other members as well. I am looking forward to getting to know people that frequent this site. I have already learned a ton about my boat from this site, and looking forward to learning even more.
Now if I could just get the weather to warm up a bit, I wouldn't be writing this, I would be at Powell!!
