    Wake???

Just posted this as a reply and realized it might be best as new discussion/question.

Got a question for you Tige veterans. I'm new to the Tige brand and just started exploring them as a possible option for future boat purchase.

It seems like most people on here are into surfing and from what I can tell the surf wake looks amazing behind these boats (especially Z3)

My question is about the wakeboard wake. I do enjoy surfing but spend an equal amount of time wakeboarding. I have spent a good amount of time riding behind a SAN 210 and a Malibu Vlx. I really like a properly weighted Malibu Vlx wakeboard wake. How does the Tige Wakeboard wake compare (RZ2, Z3 or new 2013 Z1)???

I know wake is a personal preference but just looking for some opinions from Tige owners who enjoy both surfing and wakeboarding equally.

Thanks for the input... appreciate it.

i like the wake, its highly adjustable, you can get a mean 210 like lip or a big mellow ramp with taps. they are sensitive side to side front to back though. they are also not as aesthetically pleasing and smooth as the other boats but its just cosmetic

The Z3 actually has one of my favorite wakeboarding wakes (along with the SAN230). It's huge, has a nice transition, and a clean lip that will definitely boot you. As Jreis just said, the taps makes the wake style very adjustable (much more so than most other boats), but the drawback is that it is more weight sensitive. Once you get it dialed in though, the Z3 wake is nothing short of amazing. I haven't gotten a chance to ride behind the new Z1, but I'm expecting a similar wake to the Z3.

I have a Z3 and I do a lot of wakeboarding and foiling, very little surfing. I think it is a little tough to get the wake dialed in, however, once you do it is a really good wake for wakeboarding. I just save my settings on the tige touch and your always good to go.

Thanks - there aren't many Tige's in my area - So i appreciate the input about the wake. we do have a dealer that carries them now, so hopefully I'll be able to get to test one out when it gets warmer.

The New Z1 looks very interesting to me. Saw one at the Boat Show and it had Great Show appeal and fit and finish looked great. Will be very interested to hear/see how it performs once somebody gets to test it out.

the easiest way to set them up is to weight them 50/50 ish front to back. set your speed and go. as you drive move the taps up slowly from 1, 2,3 etc. until the boat begins to porpoise, at which point knock the taps back down one notch so its on the verge of-but not porpoising, and you will have your absolute best wake, keep that in mind for your test drive

x2 wieght 50/50. If you put more wieght in front the convex hull dose more work but then the driver better know how to avoid dunking the front. I wakeboard 95% and surf 5% and love all the different levels of wake I can get from beginner to advanced.

I always liked the Rz2 wake loaded heavily and even unloaded, however got a chance to ride behind a Z3 unloaded and I loved it. Needless to say I made be switch, the Rz2 I have found always liked 50/50 or the typical 60/40 (rear/front). I got a chance to talk to a couple people like Billy Garcia, Erik Ruck, and a few others and they all really said tr Z3 likes more bow weight. I hope to try the Z3 with a 50/50, 60/40, and a 40/60 hopefully post back this spring once the ice gets out of here! 50 degrees yesterday 25 today with a 70% chance of snow..
