Trying to buy a boat in states at FIC.

I have been searching for the right boat for a about a year now. My specifications have been a z3 with 6.0 l and pro ballast. Have found only one in all of US and Canada.

I am having trouble getting financing for a boat in the states through a Canadian bank. For some reason they will not lend to boats residing in the states. If the boat were in Canada it would not be an issue. Just none of the Canadian dealers have the boat I want, lots of z3 but for some reason people do not believe in using the 6.0l motor. The 6.0 is awesome and great on fuel. I find it better than the 5.7's. I could special order but that would cost much more than I am willing to spend. Rather just pull off the lot. especially since this boat I have been eyeing up is no compromise.

Anyone know a way around it? House only has 40k in equity.

I have talked to a few dealers in US and same thing-they will not finance Canadians. Understandable being different country. Canadian banks are very hesitate or will not finance items bought outside of Canada. Same thing for property. When we purchased townhouse in Mesa we had to use LOC. Our townhouse is clear and free but we can not use any of the equity. Let us know if you find away around it as we will be searching for another boat in a few months and will also look in the states--cheaper. Will probably just resort to cash and some Canadian LOC.

When you buy the new one let me know what you want for the 24V

Say hi to the swinging bridge.

Ok Weird. Who is this? May try to keep the 24v to run a separate boat for lessons and such but may sell it if I got to. Let me know who you are and we can talk.

have you actually sat down with your dealer and discussed custom ordering? We custom ordered last year and whether you custom order or buy off the showroom floor the price of the options are the same.

I grew up in Glenboro now live in BC but still have lots of ties out there, I am currently looking for a 03 or newer 24 or 22' but it looks like I may have to wait until the fall when the prices come back down. We used to ride the skurfer behind a merc 115 power of tower at Pelican Lake. Now we get to surf behind a buddies RZ4 on the Shuswap things have gotten better for sure. Still try to get out to lake of the prairies for a walleye feed once a year. Where do you guys ride in Souris?

Totally agree on the 6.0L engine thing.

Well for starters we don't have a dealer within an 8 hour radius of me. Not one in the province. The closest dealer to me was close on price and had something close to what I wanted and price was close. Next province over nothing with 6.0l and prices were in the 100k mark.

I frequent Florida and heading down in march and would be able to bring this boat home. Works out pretty good if I could get financing for it. Not interested in paying 6 figures for any boat. Not even a Tige. The pricing is getting absurd these days. Not just boats but housing and everything else.

It's so true. The 6.0 makes a world of difference. We have a rz2 with 5.7 on the lake and we push a solid 8 hours on a tank sometimes 10 if just surfing. My boat is always loaded. The 5.7 gets 7 hours if lucky and it is light duty. Plus we can load up 3200 lbs of ballast and ten adults and no problems getting on plane with stock prop. Never be able to back to a small motor in this size of a boat. Maybe in a 20 footer but no business in a 24' boat with its potential for weight and wave making ability.

I don't know what your budget is but I bought a Z3 with the 409 from GT Performance in Saskatoon and am real happy with the price. It has the surf ballast and not the Pro ballast but it was right around 86000

You must have bought the blue one. I was on the fence on that one. They have another there but not a fan of the color. I may give them another go. They were good to talk to last year. They have a sled trailer I am looking at as well so may just have to take the 16 hour jaunt for a peek.

Tyler at GT performance was very good to deal with. From Souris it should only be a 6 hour drive or so each way. ( I am from Virden orginally). I think he is taking the time to talk to, he really hooked up up on accessories after the price of hte boat.

I had him install 3 shadow caster Transom lights, convex VX, etc... and was very reasonable with pricing/labour.
