Yeah I thought of that after I posted SS. Same holds true though if not more so. Very touchy as to heat. That was clearly over heated when welded the fist time.

I have contacted a few places and most say around 150-300 without seeing it. Not horrible and well worth it if it doesn't happen again.

We already removed all speakers and wires, that was a fun project! Ran string through it so it should (fingers crossed) be easy to put back together when they are finished.

Will post pics when it is all done.

        Thanks everyone for your advice.

If the string burns/melts, dont sweat it, thats an easy tower to fish. An electricians metal fish tape will go all the way from the break down joint to the furthest speaker wire hole. snag out the end of the tape, tie on yur string and pull it through with the tape.

Ok so we had the tower welded and picked it up last night. The guy did a really good job with the weld but was pretty messy and now the finish around the weld is different.

There are quite a few spots where it looks like brushed aluminum now and we are curious how to get it back to the semi polished finish that the rest of the tower has.

Does anyone know what sort of finish is standard on these towers or how to achieve it? It is not a high polish and definitely not satin finish.
