    New Boat?

Hey guys, does anybody know anything about this boat?

    http://www.olingermarine.com/new_veh...97&pov=3072866

Does this seem like a decent deal? I really don't like the idea that it only has 59 hours on it, but maybe I don't need to worry about it? Also, did the 2006 model year 22v actually have the PCM excalibur 330hp as a stock option? All the other ones I have seen have either the merc 350 315hp or the marine power 340hp. Seems like maybe a motor swap was done here or something?

Looking to upgrade my 21i for a v-drive and this seems like a good option. Also, I mainly ski and surf not so much wakeboarding, do I want the 22v or the 22ve. So many questions and headaches driving myself crazy. Thanks guys if you can offer me any advice.

my cousin had that same boat in orange. sold it 2 years ago for 40k with no real tower speakers and 160hrs. that's a pretty good price if the boat is clean. not sure on what engine he had as we never really talked about that, but it was a solid well built boat. tower was hands down one of the tallest I have been under. personally didn't care much for the somewhat flat and expansive dash and gauge placement, but that's all personal taste. if you want that particular boat, that looks to be a real good price imo.. olinger, if I'm not mistaken has a pretty good rep.

    good luck

I'm not 100% positive, but I am pretty sure that boat wouldn't have had a PCM engine in that year range.

Yes I see that this boat has the PCM but I was wondering if this is maybe an aftermarket engine or if there is a chance that it was a factory option from Tige in 2006. To me, and from other replies it seems as though you may not have been able to get this a s factory option.

If this was an 06 Ve, which 06 was the first year for the Ve, im 99% sure it would have come with a Marine Power. Tige went MP solely in 06 but 06 was also the last year for the "V" hull and Tige probably had some left over PCM's, so they used it. Im pretty sure its the factory engine.

If it's a factory motor I'd call the PCM a plus!!

I think it's an awesome looking boat but I am a little jaded as I have a 2004 24V that looks almost identical except for the tower. Looks like it already has perfect pass and that's a big plus. All you need is a FAE and then you will be ready to hit the water. The only negative mark against these boats is the slanted transom, its not an easy step to get from the sun deck to the ski platform. With that said they ride great with the deep V and handle like a corvette!

This boat is old enough you need to check the steering, if its stiff it probably needs a new steering cable. It's not an expensive fix, about $150 plus some skin off your knuckles you can make the steering like new.
