Personally, I would never go black. Too hot. Too dirty. Too fussy. Too pretentious. I detailed vehicles as a boy/young man, from wash boy to running a mobile service which is why every vehicle I own is white. I'm just not into cleaning vehicles anymore and black is a giant PITA if you like your stuff to look good for a long time. Our summers tend to be pretty hot around here (90-100+) and black is way too hot for that. Especially when you could have white. Black looks great when its clean but, that's about the extent of its usefulness. My buddy's black and blue '06 22ve looks like chit compared to my boat.

Don't get me wrong, on the right application, it is the correct color. '68 RS/SS Camaro? Has to be black. A boat, which you use in the summer, during the day, white.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Nicky, I agree. But what is it about your friends black and blue boat that looks bad? Does he not maintain it well?

I did build a white/black classic combination that looks extremely nice and classy, but we want something that will be unique.

He's definetly not the type to polish the boat. It gets done once a year by somebody else and that is it. It is a strictly Tahoe boat so it doesn't see dirt of any kind really but, when its on the trailer, it shows every little flaw in the gel coat. I'm kinda prone to seeing that stuff given my background though. The nice thing about gel coat is that you can polish it over and over. Thats a good thing if you like your black boat to look nice 'cause you're going to end up doing some polishing. White is way more forgiving in that respect.

My main beef with black is the heat. If that wasn't an issue, I'd be much more accepting of it. It's still a pain in the *** but, it looks nice with very regular maintenance. When I weigh out all the pros and cons of black vs white, white wins everytime. The only cool thing about black is the way it looks. To me, that's not that cool.

Well said, Nicky. I appreciate your input. We'll see what happens.

I would figure a KTM guy would have to go orange. One color combo I really like is the tangerine and graphite. Just like you have it with the tangerine in place of the blue and graphite in place of the black.

Funny you say that, I actually just built that last night. I kind of like it as well. There are just TOO MANY options

Well guys, looks like we are going with the Black/Electric blue combo, but changing the inside deck to stone and the dash to black.

Anyways, the boat is pretty loaded up and we are really excited. Putting the order through on Thursday and then it should be 5-6 weeks for arrival.

As per options, do you guys recommend the heater? My friend had one, but I don't think we ever used it. Not sure if it's worth the $800.
