Water Level Status: Lake Granbury and Tin Top

All...we are thinking about heading up to Tin Top for Spring Break. We generally surf but there seems to be some concern on threads about water depth. We have an RZ2 and was just wondering if anyone has been out there recently.

We would be new to the river and Grandbury so want to make sure there is decent water and we don't end up on a stump. Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Unless we get a lot of rain between now and spring break Granbury is not an option. Right now Granbury does not have any ramps open. This has been a bad problem the last couple of years due to the Brazos River Authority selling so much water out of Granbury. That coupled with the drought and i have not been able to put my boat in at Granbury since end of August. I'm not sure about Tin Top but am sure others will weigh in.

Tin top seemed very shallow and I have not seen many people surfing out there. I hit bottom a couple of times on my foil.
If its not fun, Why do it?

Tip top at this point is a no go. Need rain, and a lot of it!

FYI...locals there dont typically like when people wake surf on TinTop. One reason among many is because its one of the few places around DFW that always has perfect butter for wakeboarding, barefooting, slalom etc. Im only passing the word from friends that are property owners down there. I like wake surfing too but only do that on my local lake. When we head down to TinTop we only wakeboard because you cant find that type of butter on the local lakes around DFW.

As far as water levels I bet its low real low. Even when water levels are normal there are a lot of spots that get shallow.
