I thought the Beyonce show sucked. Why can't they use the best HS marching band and some new upcoming hopeful singer and give the rest of the money they waste to a good charity of the fans choosing?

I watched halftime, and my thoughts were that while it was OK, what's the big dang deal?
Sure, Beyonce is pretty, frenetic, athletic, and has a great gusty singing voice; but does my 10 year old niece who is in competitive cheer competitions.

I thought Alicia Key's National Anthem was very good. Some thought too slow, I thought it showed range that she could take something well known and make it her own.... oh yeah and play an instrument.

Why not have a regular halftime with HOF inductees introduced and a school marching band for entertainment.

Yeah I can't understand why they have a sporting event that is watched mostly by men and have Beyonce play the half time show. How many hardcore football fans do you think crank Beyonce music for entertainment. At least she looks pretty good. Up here in Canada we had Justin Beiber play the half time show for CFL Grey Cup game. Not good

It's just for the guys wives to keep them hooked on the "spectacle" long enough to watch the 1st 1/2 of the games commercials.

Some only turn the channel to see the halftime show. It's about drawing that crowd as well as ratings. I believe that with all the controversy it was still lip synced. Caught a few places that showed it was.
