    Replacing XDM3 radio with CDM6

Has anybody on here replaced their stock XDM3 Clarion Headunit with a CDM6 headunit? I bought one the other day hoping it would be an easy install. I didnt know if it was a direct replacement or if it requires some cutting and rigging to get it in there. Any foresight or help would be awesome

Both models require a typical single DIN 2x7 inch opening, so the physical swap should be fairly straight forward. The XMD face is wider then the CMD's, so the CMD will not cover the XMD's mounting screw holes. A little Marine-Tex or white silicone calk will cover them. Or you can fabricate a bezel to go between the deck and head-unit that will cover them. You will also need to mark in drill the pilot holes for the CMD mounting screws.

Thanks, Chp. Mayb I can make a little bezel and wrap it in carbon fiber to cover everything. I just didnt want to have to redo the back of the glovebox to get it to fit.
