Convex VX on RZR or R20

Has anyone researched the VX on a 20 foot boat? Does it improve or clean up the wake any better? I would be interested but the price seems to not be a fixed amount. Maybe Tige only produces the VX for new production boats? I will have to call Lee at Tige since Ohio does not have a dealer.

Squid? Feel free to chime in here! I have the same question. From what I've heard, there will be a convex VX for both these models... Just haven't heard any feedback for any boat other than the Z3.

I watched one in action yesterday, granted it was behind a Z3. But I have an RZR and they told me it will fit mine, and they think it will probably make the biggest difference behind the 20 footers.

Price is $2500 and as far as I know that is fixed pricing. Maybe some of the dealers are discounting or quoting for install. Its supposed to be produced for all the current boats. Another member said orders aren't being delivered to dealers for current boats(already bought) till late summer or early fall.

I spent alot on my new RZR(to me anyway) and trying to get the wife to go for another 2500= NO GO! Especially since I haven't bought the additional amps, ballast or boat lift yet!

My dealer told me that the VX will not be available to retrofit older models until next year. I have a 2011 RZ4. Has anyone heard that they will be available this year, in time for the season?

IMO the narrower boats (R20, RZR, and older than 2013 Z1) will see the biggest benefit from the VX. I think it is do to the fact that they are narrower and not due to their length. Here are a couple of pics of the prop wash behind my Z1 with and without my device (not a VX but same principle, pic of device also included). I realize the angle is not the same in the pics but the one of my surfing (without device) is the only one I can find. I have posted a video of the before and after effects elsewhere on this forum if interested.

I've always been able to make a pretty large and clean wake on the regular side but I just can't get it to be very long (that's what she said...). The regular side has always been pretty temperamental.

If it lengthens the wave, cleans it up on both sides and allows you to use more TAPS positions, I'd say its a win. I don't see myself buying one though. If it helped the wakeboard wake, I'd seriously consider it.

I've never had a problem with making a sizable, fun surf wave. Agree with tj, goofy wake is shorter and steeper but has a mean curl. Just don't surf enough to warrant the investment. Unless of course it improves the wakeboard wake, but I think the rzr wakeboard wake is pretty damn good for a 20 footer as is...
