    2012 z3 or 2013 Z1

I have a choice, the Z3 is a demo with less than 30hrs, the Z1 would be new. Trailer 130km to the lake, normally 4 kids 4adults out but that might increase. I surf and board, the missus boards, kids are learning to wake board.

Both boats are loaded to the nines, and the Z3 has 1/2 things I really like, like the trash can( kids junk ), silly I know but I get so sick of their wrappers and juice boxes in every cupholder.

The Z3 has a colour combo that I like but I think it could be better.

    Your opinions please......

8 people, I would take the Z3 for sure. The Z3 is basically 24 foot.

30 hours demo means absolutely nothing bad to me. Go big!
      Be excellent to one another.

If the price is the same and not an issue I would go with the Z3. Do you know when the Z3 was made? The only thing that I would get in writing is that you have a warranty with the Z3.

With any new boat there are going to be a few issues typically found in the first 30 hours. With the demo all the kinks should be worked out. Big plus in my opinion. And the Z3 is a great boat!

Also find out what date the Z3 was built. If I remember right some of the earlier 2012 Z3 boats that Tige produced had a slightly different hull design, which did not produce as nice of a wake as their later boats. If I remember right it was only the first handful in 2012.

Z3 the 30 hours from demo are in my eyes perfect as most issues are found/worked out I figure in the first 15 hours...

On my Z3 in the first year I had a loose ballast pump that had to be replaced, a wetsounds AMP go out...possibly because the loose ballast pump caused moisture in the compartment with the amp. I also had a check engine light come on due to an o2 sensor on the PCM engine not heating up enough to wipe the moisture off it. They put in a recall kit from PCM to resolve that. I think that was about it.

I don't want to deter you in anyway you'll LOVE your new Z3 I just have been around boats and worked with boats enough to know they are never perfect nor do I expect them to be, but many do which I understand and was the same way for the longest time. When we spend as much as we do on them we expect them to be perfect with no issues. I've always found there to be 2 or 3 things that generally come up in the first 15-20 hours that need tweaking or fixing. A few issues I've encountered are ballast pump, PCM engine issue which as bmoorewiz said the recall was last spring already so all the new ones are taken care of, maybe a latch that needs adjusting just small issues nothing major or mechanical really. A lot boils down to the dealer and their "prep/rigging" list and what they do to ensure the boat is proper before heading to a customer.. Regardless I wouldn't worry about it! Enjoy the Z3!
