I can tell you on our lake that is what the marine police look for with their binoculars is an expired registration sticker and once they pull you over it is anything they can think of.

Ditto Zacky and talltigeguy... You are exacly right...where there is smoke, there is usually fire. If you don't have the current registration stickers on your boat, the officer has every right and in fact duty, to inquire as to the placement or lack of your registration...
Another board member took umbrage with my thought that we as boaters should be responsible and do everything we can to be safe. In another post, it was referenced that a group of kids that overloaded a boat and didn't have enough life preservers were not doing anything unsafe... Puuuuuleassseee... If and when I get a ticket for something on the water, it will likely be because I deserve it...and while I may not be overjoyed with the thought of paying some fine...I will be man enough to stand up and say I was wrong.
Too many times we excuse the small stuff until somebody really gets hurt or something bad happens...Comment
