I posted this up on WW but figured I post here for others still following. Been getting slammed with snow lately and the boats been put up in a storage unit. Already adding onto the system, just like I said I wouldn't I have an extra jl1000/1 amp and enough carpet, so I decided to build a couple boxes for the rear ski locker. I kicked the idea of a 2nd sub around and had some people talk me out of it, but since I practically had everything to do it, I figured what the hell

I search Craigslist and found 2 10" L7 kickers, 600 watts RMS which should b perfect on my 1000/1. I called kicker and the guy recommended a 2 ft ported box per sub tuned to 40hz. So I built 2 of them each will b on separate sides of the ski locker, sub pointing to the hull and the port eathier facing the transom, or cabin. Ill move my battery bank to the middle, in between the boxes. I already have 2 group 29 batteries, but think ill add at least 2, possibly 4 more. Each amp will have a rocker switch remote turn on in the glove box, so I can designate amps depending on what I want going. The batteries will b on their own bank, and will rely on a shore charger for recharging, not the alternator when depleted. Ill keep everyone updated on how they sound, because I'm sure there is others who want more bass. It'll b mainly a boat shaker, with maybe more output with the wings up while we're docked.

When you get new batteries I highly recommend XSPower batteries...I had the optima blue tops and to be honest they were horrible...drained quick, wouldn't charge fully according to my charger...maybe two bad batteries but anyway. I went with three d3100's XSPower batteries and I have yet to have any issues. So far I can play the 5000+ watt stereo as loud and long as I want.

I use a NOCO genius charger GEN4 (4 bank). Plug it in when I dock, unplug and go the next day. All charged up and ready to go

Ill probably just keep my interstate 29s for now since the 2 in there now aren't even a year old yet. 2 more will hopefully let me crank on it all day. Ill look into the charger cuz I do need one.

Iwndr if I need to shoot the ports up the side of the boat, or let the port load off the transom like I'm thinking. I guess trial and error will tell me. I should b able to put it 4 different ways anyways.

Let the ports load off the transom.... Then inside the seating area go ahead and cut some vents on each side
