I am definitely going to get a cruise control for my 04 21i here in a month or so. Just unsure on the best one to get. Normally all we do us wakeboard but the girls sometimes ski. Stargazer was looking like the one to get. The guy said that'd give me the best one to date and its pretty much plug n play. I was thinking about just mounting it next to the remote on that same panel tho instead of replacing the tach. Any input on the best cruise to get before I buy would b great tho!!

My buddy's Tige cruise pad went out on his 2006, and he had many discussions with me, Tige and PP to figure out that he just needed a replacement Tige cruise button unit.Be excellent to one another.

Do you have a paddle wheel? The star-gazer should also be able to hook up to your paddle wheel. That way you can use GPS speed or actual speed.
I have and OLD PP 3 Event, all we do is ski (I did not even install a paddle wheel). In the ski mode my PP works off of RPM and the timing with the magnets on the course. Once you calibrate your boat in the course the RPMs needed for each speed (time through the course) they are remembered. They say the paddle wheel is not as accurate at higher speeds for skiing a course this is why they use timing thru the course.
The Wakeboarding uses the paddle wheel and goes off speed. If you are skiing open water and just want a steady pull the wakeboard stargazer should be fine. If you jump on the course I'd recommend going for the 3 Event.

I am a little confused, there was a thread on this site called "22V Mod Thread" and cpropes2005 was trying to add PP to his 03 22V and ran into a snag that his boat had to be driven by wire and in these years the Tiges were not. chpthril even chimed in and agreed that adding PP to the years around 03 /04 were a problem. I have a 04 24V with the 320 HP motor and would love to add PP to it but I am very confused to if it can be done. I would like for someone on here to clear this up.

If you have a mechanical throttle linkage then perfectpass will work and is probably the best option. From others who have posted here as we'll as info I got from perfect pass says that all Marine Power engines prior to 06 should have mechanical throttle linkages and should work. In 06 Marine Power switched to throttle by wire where there is a throttle position sensor at sends an electronic signal to the engine and these are the motors that do not work with perfectpass. In throttle by wire versions of perfectpass there is no servo motor to physically adjust the throttle. It is all done with electronics so it just plugs in. What perfectpass told me is that while this approach works with most other throttle by wire motors they just could never get the bugs out of the electronic interface with the marine power engines.
As mentioned above my situation is unique because my boat is an 03 but the engine was replaced around 2010 so I actually have a drive by wire system even though my boat is an 03. I was able to come up with a hybrid system where I used the mechanical version of perfectpass to physically move my throttle position sensor but I don't think that would work for most people.
