Its just part of the evolution. When I bought my boat everyone wanted the smallest wake possible for slalom skiing. Direct drive (DD) was king. My boat didn't come with a tower. In fact, it wasn't even an option. A few years later wakeboarding took off huge and companies were pumping out towers and putting on every boat imaginable.

We still wakeboard first and surf second. With the small lakes out here in Colorado they get pretty busy around 10am or so. So we wakeboard from 7-10 then get ready to surf!
