BTW - "Assault Weapons" account for less than 1% of gun crimes and of all gun crimes almost 75% are gang related. So I don't see how banning "Assault Weapons" will do anything.

I guess when you cant produce anything positive this is what you resort to, come on we have a problem and the money and time being spent on gun control wont cure the problem or in any way slow it down , the money needs to be spent on ways to get help for the mentally Ill.

I don't understand it nothing that has been proposed would of stopped the crimes that happened. As a gun owner it is our responsibility to have guns 1.) out of reach of kids 2.) out of reach of mentally ill people and 3.) out of the reach of strangers, why do you need to create more gun laws when many that are already created aren't being enforced. Gun bans simply do not work.. I don't believe the issue is a gun control issue by any means it is mental health and society. I also think it should be a states decision if they want to ban particular guns then they can do it and it seems as though sheriffs are coming out and saying they won't enforce the new gun laws. I guess the question for you NOBODY is why must you create more laws on the law abiding citizens when they aren't the ones causing the problems to begin with? Make all gun crimes a felony and then you will start to get the attention of the people committing the crimes..
