We love the wave so much more. You are right, the transition was steeper. Now working on my ollies the transition and landings are much smoother and easier to complete. Even my wife said night and day difference in the wave. She is a skimmer and loves this wave now.

Yes, the way it was before, you come down on landing and it was easy to get the board caught in the transition, now its smooth coming down and out, that is very clear to see, big difference and that is part of the design of the VX. We took tons of videos to Tige last year and really stressed how important the transition is and that is incorporated/tested into the design.

We have a cat on our 409 PCM but I still run an FAE and will continue to do so until I track down info that the PCM cat scrubs 95%+. Ideally that info would come from PCM but ... if you happen to take measurements (no pressure ), then that would be awesome.

EDIT: to clarify, I am not expecting anyone to test -- rather, I think it is important not to make unsupported assumptions of how clean the PCM cat system is. I hope it is clean! But until the manufacturer shows that or it is demonstrated in some other way, I do not think we can assume sufficient CO is scrubbed so as to avoid all negative health impacts.

EDIT 2: Info above too low, sorry to have relied on memory. This thread cites sources reporting reductions as low as 80% and a marine cat report that peak production was 200 ppm (where 35 ppm can cause headaches and dizziness within 6-8 hours of constant exposure; 100 ppm can cause headaches in 2-3 hours; and carbon monoxide alarms go off at about 70 ppm).
OK, Larry from FAE is sending me the same measuring device I used last time, will get it done.

Could you share? And if there is going to be a bulk order placed let me know, please!
razrmaid, sorry for the delay but I have not been on in awhile. Unfortunately, my boat is up at the lake so I can't make the measurements. However, I can provide a few more specifics and a couple of pics (I can take more if needed). First off, I built my first prototype about a year and a half ago and it was flat and mount even with the hull edge much like the VX. After testing I noticed that I greatly reduced the wash but the wave did lack push and I was adding an additional 400lb of weight to the boat. The device I have been running for the last year plus is mounted above (approx. three inches above the taps plate when it is level) and curved on outside edges. Additionally, the inside edge is mounted approx. 2 inches in front of the leading edge of the TAPS plate with the rear edge a few inches short of the swim platform edge. To mount I used the existing swim platform mounting hardware and simply ran the swim platform bolt through my device and attached to existing mounts on the transom. You can also see that I have a brace that runs along the bottom of the swim platform. To mount this I just punched a hole in my swim platform bracket and bolted. I now how maybe 100 hours on mine and I absolutely would not go back to not having it. As a reminder: this is on a 2010 Z1.PC 2.JPGPC 1.JPGPrototype.2.JPGphoto-1.JPG

That's pretty cool, all of the pictures I had seen of the former Z1 had a lot of wash, looks very clean.

Thanks Ragboy. The only negative has been that I was a tad late in getting mine to Tige. Apparently the day I showed them mine was the day they sent you theirs for testing. Oh well, the look and the reaction of the engineer was as least some consolation As for the wash on the former Z1 here is a pic with and without my device with the same boat setup (minus the person on the locker). What you can't see is how much better my little 21 now surfs. 8.jpgphoto-1.JPG
