surf wake on 22ve or 24ve

Is the surf wake on a 22ve or 24ve weak or is it good I hear it is pretty bad

    #2
Not sure where you got the bad info, but the Tige Ve is one of the best surf wakes out there. The 22Ve is easier to weight as compared to the 24Ve due to the added bouncy of the extra 2ft, but both are down right awesome.

+1! Wake9.com started out with a 24Ve and it was a bad azz surf wave! The Ve's throw out a nice clean, meaty wave that is good for everyone!

I had one but never had ballast in it or anything I wakeboarded and salmon bu that's all and I'm. Going to get me another one that I'm looking at and thanks for the info I really like the 22ve best boat out there for wakeboarding and salmon.

+2 IMO, the Ve's are a great value, with the ability to throw a tremendous surf wake.

IMO, an 08 without factory ballast is a plus. The factory 250# hard tank in the rear corner was not enough to build a great wake. If thats all the ballast you had in yours to surf, the wake is surfable, but by no means great. Add the extra ballast and its on! Even with the newer Tige boats with the 600# of surf ballast, lots of owners are upgrading to larger sacs.

FYI - Here is a thread I posted after taking my 2007 22Ve out for the first time in July.

As you'll notice, this was also our first time surfing. Needless to say I had absolutely no experience weighting the boat and was still able to pull off a decent wave. If you scroll down a bit you'll see a picture I later posted after dialing it in some.

Not sure who told you that the 22Ve and 24Ve didn't have a good wake but I would question any advice given by this individual moving forward. Haha! Get the boat man, you'll be glad you did. Oh, and be sure to take your "buddy" out with you to show him how badass your wake is!!!

I have an 08 24ve. I have custom Enzo style sacs, this pic is with full tank of gas (which makes a huge difference) and approx 1375lbs in the rear starboard locker. I think we may have 2-3 people on board adding maybe 400 extra lbs.
The pocket isnt long but its a tall solid wave.

We have 2007 22Ve and have pretty good wave but needs 1000+ lbs of ballast for good results. We first got the boat and tried factory ballast which was lousy. Then went to manual 400lb bag and somewhat better then 3 manual bags which got real old real fast. We then had chpthril do a project to add 1100lb custom automated bag that goes in rear locker and extends under the seat. It works great and really delivers nice wave plus it fills fast via a 2nd high volume pump w bigger hose fill. He removed the aft tank to make room and shift batteries over plus FAE and WetSounds ws-420. Here's the thread: http://www.tigeowners.com//forum/showthread.php?t=14123

ST68 has sim ballast setup in his 08 22Ve w similar custom bag but its manual fill and that works well too. We both get good waves and will deploy 300 or 400 lb bag on the seat if only 2-3 people in the boat and we are cooking.

I'm the bigger surfer in our family at 250+ so more is better.

Here's a vid on my boat (720 is best pic quality):

Boulder Boats has an '07 22Ve listed at $38.5K. Not sure on the condition, but maybe worth a look: http://www.boulderboats.com/new_vehi...44&pov=2921765
