    Accuset issues

    Hi ,
i have just purchased a 2nd hand 2006 20i and am learning the about the boat. i have a couple issues with the boat.
1st thing is using the Tige Accuset. im not sure how to use it for starters and the switches on the dash i cannot read. i assume it is the last switch on the right but still wont work properly got it to work once. is there suppose to be a ON light or dash display to let me know its active??

    2nd thing
Sometimes when go to accelerate i have no power. the boat goes into gear but then no throttle. if i turn the engine off and then on it works ok. it only happens once or twice every time i take it out.

    info about the boat
    2006 20i
    280 hrs
    GM 5.7 ltr
    340 HP
    TBW
If anyone can help it would be great. is there any other Cruise control options?? i dont mind spending a little to get it working.

    Anthony,

    Welcome to the Tige site.

There is a master ON/OFF toggle for the Accue-Set and yes, it does illuminate when the switch is on. On your model, I could not tell you which switch it is, if the label is warn off, sorry.

Once the master switch is on, accelerate to speeed, push the center set botton on the accu-set pad. It will flash red for a few seconds and IIRC, it goes solid once locked in. At that point, bury the throttle and the speed should stay level.

The occasions where the engine will not throttle up, sounds like its going into limp mode. There are a number of causes. If your boat has the Tige EIDB dual battery setup, a voltage difference between them is a common cause on the 06.

      Thank you

Hi and thank you for your reply i will try the accuset tonight and see how i go. hopefully i can get it to work. Also i will take a multi meter and check battery voltage
      Thanks again

        More issues

Ok so i took the boat out yesterday and figured out the switch for Accuset and it worked well for the first hour. Then i turned the boat off and switch off then when i went to set it again it would kill the engine RPM back to idle and i would have to switch the engine off and on again. I tried a few time after to get it to work and same thing would happen.
I have an idea going off what was said about battery voltage earlier.
My stereo 2X amps is ran off one battery alone. could this be lowering the voltage on one battery and causing the boat to go into limp mode??
Does anyone have any though or could share how their stereo is powered.
i didnt have a multimeter with me to check voltages but its just a guess i had!!
        Regards
        Anthony

On the 06 model with the 340 hp marine power engine with the Tige EIDB dual battery setup, the engine management computer is seeing a voltage input from each battery. If there is a difference of X voltage (cant remember the exact threshold) between those two inputs the ECM will throw a throttle position code and go into limp-mode. This engine is throttle-by-wire, so this is the reason.

The ultimate cure is to relocate the voltage input coming from the house battery over to the pin thats carrying the voltage signal from the main cranking. Now the ECM sees the same voltage on both inputs as its generated from the same battery.

Dom at Forts Inboard Connection in FL can provide the schematic. In the mean time, correcting the battery voltage of the low battery, which is typically the house, will fix it.

            .

Thank you for your reply it has been a great help. i have email Dom and hopefully he is able to help you. i will check the voltages across the two aswell which might help confirm the battery's are the source of the issue

              Ok Guys and Girls,
An update to my isseues with the no throttle issue. I got in contact with Dom who explained to me that the throttle TBW used 2 computers/modules to work and there is one ran from the engine computer and the other is ran off the accessorie computer, and when both modules see a voltage differ they throw a code and put the boat into limp mode so What i needed to do was to rewire one module to the engine battery so they where both on the one engine battery. I used the boat yesterday and didnt have the trottle issue once. When i used the boat before the rewire it happened about 20 times in 2 hours nearly everytime i went back to idle.
              Hope this helps
