Boat US input. They have a few different approaches and I currently have yacht policy w full replacement. A few yrs ago, my boat was stolen, they paid policy value and voila new boat. Went kinda smoothly and no issues. We have learned the replacement value may decrease over time but they send renewal every year and policy value is clearly covered in that notice so be vigilant. We've had good results.

Important to look at liability and all the limits... a $1million Liability is never too much.

I personally am a Farmers Insurance agent and have my boat and my fathers boat through Progressive.
My insurance is through my Farmer's policy as well. Are there other providers Farmer's goes through for boat insurance? For some reason Progressive does not sound familiar to me.

Thanks for all of the great input! I am getting a couple of quotes with extra liability coverage - it is kinda crazy how much it has gone up over the past 5 years - but then again - what hasn't eh! Thanks again.

Instead of added liability on the boat policy, get a PUP.

I just my BoatUS renewal in the mail for this year. It went from $650/yr to $850. If I remember I have agreed hull value of $65k and $5k on the trailer.

We did have a claim to replace the underwater gear of around $3k. I'm not sure if that's why it went up. I'll have to call them to see.

Insurance, what a topic. I have pulled my share of newbies, two that had injuries. One broken leg due to a - thank god- pre-existing injury and the other just a bad knee. Be careful who you tow. Not saying that only newbies get hurt by any means but seasoned riders at least know the risk. Does anyone else have horror stories?
