Anybody going? April 7-9th. My boat just got broken into last night, took the amps, subs, and 5 of 6 component speakers. So....I need some new ideas. Worst part was the boat sits behind my gate on the side access and the darn dog (asleep in my lazyboy) didnt even bark!

Sorry about your boat. Man would I like to catch someone stealing! I just got my boat two weeks ago and I had four of my compartments alarmed. So when the door is opened it goes off. It sounds like a car alarm. (maybe louder)The only change I will make is to bypass the battery shutoff! Because if someone knows theres a shut off they would look for it but that compartment is alarmed also. Had it installed by Warlocks in Sac. they did a real clean job on everything. Hope they catch the punks!

hmmm... never thought of a car alarm inthe boat- maybe just a motion activated alarm would work- that way if someone jumped in the alarm would go off.....gotta look into that!!!

Quick, easy and cheap way to do it is to grab one of those motion activated alarms (from Home Depot) that people usually attach to a door at their house...the kind that are designed to go off when the door opens so that you know your kids are going outside (in Ca. you have to have these on all doors when you have small kids and a pool, in order for your house to pass final inspection by the City---if your pools permitted that is.) Anyhow they work great, nice and loud...just stick it under the swim step and when the crook climbs up onto your boat it goes off. It's enough to scare them away and might even wake you up if your close enough to where the boat is stored. You could put several of them in your boat for next to nothing.

Have them wire the alarm directly to the battery.
