Maybe I am the minority here but I do not go from Wake Boarding to surfing. A typical day on the water is as follows - I take the wife slalom skiing, kids tubing and then I get to go surfing. As I am bringing the kids in from tubing I am filling my sac so it is ready to go. Granted I ride goofy and my buddies ride regular so being able to switch in seconds would be nice. But what do you lose in wave length, shape and push to gain in quick switching of sides? I would rather have the best wave, competition like, on both sides of the boat then have the ability to change quickly.
Next year are we going to see the Convex VX+. + = some sort of wave plate on the sides of the boat?

ahahah... agreed. just another part to break. moving parts like that over time.. and the force.. that will be short lived. its like the wedge if you ask me.. how many of those are broke each season?

I still don't get the fascination with switching sides so quickly. It doesn't take that long for us to switch sides.

I agree same a surf gate. I have no problems moving the wave from one side of the boat to the other. It just taks my big A$$ moving...

I am glad to see manufacturers putting money into r&d on the surfing front as opposed to wakeboarding as for me, that's all we do, but it feels like this is old news with the 'bu surfgate. I don't think that the majority of the population are looking for quick side to side, but more like a better wave with more freeboard showing for a safer ride.
it will be interesting to see more pics and vids that are not nautique-sponsored to see how the g23/25 really surf with it.

I believe its a retarded american mentality(the rush that is)... like not getting your cheeseburger at mcdonalds in less then 60 seconds... lol

Looks like surf gay (gate) to me. Alot of moving parts to worry about. In our area in Florida alot of brackish and salt riding. I wonder how that sliding in and out will hold up - should be interesting. As far as switching back and forth - what's the rush? It is always a good time for new rider to get ready the ladies in the boat to take a swim break get the tunes refreshed etc etc etc

A couple of the comments above have to be the dumbest I have ever heard. Yes, more moving parts = more things to break, but the same can be said for the TAPS plate. The surfgate is pretty well just an extra TAPS plate, so it seems pretty hypocritical to label it as unreliable. And the wedge uses TAPS-like rams to move a wedge instead of a plate...wedges breaking has not happened for years.

No to agree with whats was said above but your missing a few things. Yes that taps has moving parts, but with the CC now you have the center trim (equal amount of moving parts to the Tige) and then you add 2 more "trims" to get the same wave or worse. Thats what I believe they mean by more moving parts to break.
