Ok, it seems that everyone is receiving, or about to receive their LED ring orders and may have some questions about hoe to assemble the LED strip and ring.

For the in-boats and cup holder: With the speaker or c/h flipped over, take an alcohol pad or similar and wipe down the basket all the way around just above the mounting flange. Do the same with the c/h just above the lip.

peel the adhesive back about an inch to start. Apply the end of the strip with light pressure to seat the adhesive. Then work your way around peeling the paper off the strip as you go.

For the speakers, I like to start and end the strip where the speaker terminals are. On your cup holder holes, you may need to notch the hole to allow room for the harness. The is almost a must with the RGB strips as there's 4 wires. a .25 rat tail file works for both holes in plastic panels and fiberglass. Try to locate the cup holder harness in the back, so notch there if its required.

Clear polished edge vs. frost edge

Which do you think will look best? Obviously the clear would let more light out, where as the opaque would difuse the led light?

I'd go frosted all the way. They'll b plenty bright but frost them where it'll diffuse it would look better IMO

Hey Mike, in the pictures you have the power wires for the leds right right where the speaker wires connect. Any particular reason

I'm thinking I may polish the edge for the sub ring though?

                Chp,

Would it be better for me to attach the led stripes directly to the light ring with a few dabs from a glue gun rather than the Kicker 6200's?

The profile on the kicker are slanted in more than the wetsounds that you have in your pic, thus the leds would not be directly pointed outwards through the arcylic ring.

                  Dave,

I think you'd be fine to attach the strip to the inside face of the ring.

The led light rings I bought on ebay the lights were hot glued to the ring.

on my kickers that is what i did.. I modified the install but I used electrical tape that just overlapped theedges a touch.. all hidden behind the grills. incase I want to change things up down the road, meaning boat, color, ext. then they will be easy to remove.

I'd suggest to use waterproof glue or hot glue to attach the LEDs to Speaker rings.. that's how I do it.

Just to confirm, for the cup holders, it is not just the led ring, you are buying the stainless steel cup holder that includes the led ring, right? What dimensions do you need? Just the width or do you need the depth as well? Is it best to measure the existing cup holder itself or the hole? How tough is it to wire these? I don't know know how to wire them. I have a 2003 24v.

NO it does not include the cup holders. Im sure he could but the price will be shell shock. The stainless cup holders are not cheap

                              Ryguyten,

What I do is custom cut acrylic rings to fit your existing cup-holders, speaker, subs, etc. We take bulk length waterproof LED strips and cut them to size and solder on the leads and top it off with a piece of heatshrink. So, new cup-holders are not included. If you like, I can supply new cup-holders (for an additional cost) for those looking to add some accent lighting and freshen up the cup-holders at the same time. I can get them in black, white and stainless. Just to be safe, I would need the OD of the cup-holder body, not hole it drops in.

These LED strips are 12V ready, so wiring is simple. Connect the LED strips ground to a ground source under the helm and connect the strips B+ to the output side of a fused switch. This can be as easy tying them into your existing courtesy light circuit. In most installs, we leave the factory courtesy circuit intact and place the LEDs on their own switch source. This requires running a 2-conductor all the way around the boat from the furthest LED to the helm. Along the way, you just wire each LED into the 2-conductor in parallel (+ to +/- to -) and then wire the end of the 2-conductor to your selected switch.
