I am in the planning stages of a ballast system for a 2003 22v. I am going with an aerator system and I have most of the details worked out but I am not sure what bags will work best. I was thinking the fly high 750's in the back and side sacks (250 each or so) under each side of the bow. Will this be a good set up? I measured the rear lockers and they are about 46" long and the 750 lb sacks are 50" long. Is that cause for concern? Would the integrated bow sack be significantly better than the side sacks?

The real question is what is you primary ballast goal, wake-boarding or surfing? For wake-boarding, a pair of 750's filled in the back will net you about 1400lbs, with only about 400-500 lbs in the bow. I think you are going to find that that boat likes more in the front, at least a 50/50. For surfing, 700lbs on the surf side aft will be a surfable wake, but what the boat is capable of. I guess my primary ballast goal would be a good setup for both wakeboarding and surfing. With that said I realize that I might be able to get a better setup if I chose to focus one or the other but I like to do both so a good crossover system is what I am looking for.
For the bow I do have 500lbs of lead bags I could put under the filler cushion if I need to but I was hoping to use just water weight with everything hidden. Will the bow sack below give me any more weight up front than the two side sacks?

What about these for the rear lockers? Will they put too much pressure on the partitions? Would there be any issue running them partially full for wakeboarding? The measurement on the floor of the locker is 20" compared to the 24" width of the sac but the locker follows the slope of the hull so it becomes wider as you move up towards the top.

The other thing I am considering is that there is a good probability that I will install some sort of surf gate contraption on the boat so the surf set up would be significantly different from the typical load up one side scenario.

The Fly High W711 IBS will net you about 500 lbs in the bow of the 22V. Add a little ( I did not recommend too much, only enough to supplement and balance) lead and you are still heavy in the back IMO, for that boat. A W707 Original Fat Sac in the walkway would get you right where you need to be. This is assuming that you would be filling the 2 rear locker W707 sac.
The W719 Jumbo surf sac is the same length as the W707, but is 4" wider and 4 taller. I have a lot of customers that are running those as their surf sac in 22V/Ve, 24V/VE, 20V, 23V, RZ2 and Rz4. The most that any feel that needs to be done is to reinforce the plastic U channel that the engine divider sets in. Adding a length of aluminum angle-iron does the trick. I cant recall any Tige owners that have experience a broken divider as other manufacturers have.
No issues with running any of those sacs partially full for boarding. I have the same boat as you and mine is set up for surfing only. I run two customs in the rear which net about 1400lbs on the port side and 1500lbs on the starboard side then I run a 650lbs bow sac and another 400lbs in the walk way. This makes a sweet wave but may be more than you are after. I run all reversible pumps. Good luck with your set up and enjoy.
