    HELP

I live in the Sacramento Ca area. I just graduated from Sac State, and have been looking for a job. A position in Port Hueneme (Oxnard) looks promising. I looked on mapquest at the area, and there are two lakes that I see. Casitas and Piru. How crowded are they? How large are they? Is there somewhere else I can go? If it's a zoo down there, then I may just as well sell my boat.

    Thanks in advance,

    Robb

You cannot swim in Casitas. Nice lake to go to for just riding around. From Oxnard/Ventura area you can go to Lake Lopez, Piru, Castaic or Pyramid. Yes they all get lots of people. You can always go to Lake Nacimiento. Lake Cachuma just outside of Santa Barbara is also a non swim lake but nice to go for a ride on.

      Thanks gman,

When you say lots of people, does that mean Sat and Sun? If I went on a Tues, would I get some decent water??

How far are these lakes from where I would be? If I lived 15 miles from work, and then the lakes were in the other direction, is it worthwhile?

      Thanks again.

During the week is a lot better so you could enjoy. Put it this way, anywhere you go just make it about 45 min to 1 1/2 hrs depending to which one you go to.

          Thanks Gman.

That's pretty much how my local lake is. Which is why many people that actually want to board (Vs drinking), go to the river/ Delta.

          I can handle that.

          Have a great day!!!!
