I hope you have a lot of money for repairs. They aren't the most reliable vehicles on the road. I go by the Land Rover Dealership every week. They sell about 2 -5 vehicles a month, but have 5 technicians who stay busy as a result of regular failures of this vehicle. They love them because of job security.I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

If you want a nice SUV in that size that can tow I would look at a the 4runner based Lexus, or the Toyota Land cruiser, or the VW Toureg, the Porche version, or the big Audi diesel. Of course a fully loaded 4runner is nice too, but the newest 4runner does not have the v-8 option anymore so it's only rated to tow 5,000 lbs.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

I owned the normal Range Rover not the sport and towed The RZ2 and my brother's MB 23 TWB with it. It will do the job just fine. However the boats did tend to tow the vehicle at times. The smaller wheelbase made it so the Range Rover moved around a lot. My wife gets motion sickness at times and it moved it around enough for her to tell me I had to get a new tow vehicle. The only other issue I ever had towing with it was when I left the trailer hooked up to it for an entire weekend. That freaked out the computer for the air suspension because it though I had overloaded the tongue weight. It shut down all the systems and the dash looked like a lit up Christmas tree lol. Unhooked the trailer and pulled the E brake while going idle speed and it cleared everything. It was just dumb luck I tried that. All in all a Range Rover is a great vehicle. It isn't the the best tow vehicle out there but it definitely gets the job done. If you just tow short distances I wouldn't hesitate at all about getting one. If you can get one new or a certified pre-owned with a warranty that is the way to go. Most of the issues that happen with them are electrical but the quality is vastly improved over the late 90s and early 2000s that were loaded with problems.

I recently purchased a 2012, Ford F150, FX 4x4, SuperCrew with the EcoBoost motor. This truck averages 17 to 21 mpg. It has 365 horsepower with 11,300 lbs. towing capacity.
I’ve never owned a truck before this purchase. The ride is great and the power band is outstanding, even when towing our boat.
I was pleased to buy an American made vehicle, which I haven't done in 20+ years. The incentives were also very attractive.
Finally, Ford didn't accept a government bailout. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I'm not a fan of the Nanny State.

The best part about towing with a diesel truck is the boat is just like a little toy behind it.. The trucks always in control and showing the trailer whos boss. Never have to work about push, sway, power, and your fuel mileage is pretty much the same towing or not towing. Not to mention they have the longest factory warrantys and they have the BEST resale value.. Its something you can pretty much get all your money back out of.. =) Carry on... My next truck will be a MEGA cab for the amount of space they have inside !www.1320diesel.com Home of the Fastest Diesels!
