That is one of the cool things about the Mendonesia Half Moon board. It pumps and has the drive of the SS, but it also has the down the line speed. Really fun board.

Not convinced on the convex vx just yet. Reading the boat reviews on wake 9 most guys are saying they liked it better before?

No, read them all. The only guys that said that was 2 goofy guys, and the goofy side has an issue, that tige is fixing, and I think it is a simple fix.

Also, you can ask Majestic, he was one of the guys that said he liked it before. We dialed it in a little better and had him out again, and that changed, I think, but I will let him tell you.

The problem on the goofy side, until that issue is fixed, its more touchy and hard to find that sweet spot. On the regular side, its super easy to find. I think Dave Rusch (tahoe surfer) was the other guy that said that, and I also had them out again, but they are welcome to respond.

There is no doubt in my mind it is better, and Chase definitely felt so also. Tige sent me the device on our boat, along with our old deck and mud flap. They knew that if it didn't work, I would take it off, go back to the way it was and just not say anything. After testing it, even though we are almost all goofy, we through the mud flap away, which was a lot of work to get right.

Well keep in mind that it is still in the testing phase. When I rode behind roberts z3 before the convex vx they had much more time to dial it in. On the 5k test day the wave was awesome. I think it was the best when we took the 1100lb sac out of the middle of the floor. With the 5k set up like robert said the volume of water in the curl was much greater and it was really hard to fall back into it and recover once your leg was in the curl. It was like the teahpoo of wake surfing waves. So I think once it gets fine tuned it will be the next level of big clean wakes for surfing.

And the only reason I thought it was better before was it seemed a little longer and with the convex vx it has more of a rooster tail that will be getting fixed im sure. I think with the convex vx it just needed a little more weight than before and that's what we found out on that test day and then it was sweeeeet!!

The reason it may seem a bit shorter or lack a bit of push on the goofy side is that to get rid of the mohawk, you have to list it over a bit more, maybe 2 degrees, and it shortens and takes a bit of push. We have now been able to work around that, but Tige is definitely making modifications to make it as easy on the goofy as it is on the regular to find that perfect shape, push, lip, etc. If you see how the water flows through it I think you would see how this should be a relatively easy thing to fix, but just needed to be thoroughly tested by folks like us that really use it.

Chase said he liked that setup, but not sure how much that affected the drive, had to reduce it a good deal, I would think.

Thanks for the information. That helps explain the board.

I was very critical of the wave at the Polar bear with the new Vx installed. It lacked push and the push was limited to one certain spot of the wave towards the back before the curl and it also had wash coming off the rooster tail was really annoying. The same boat with the flap had push throughout the whole wave in the spring and it was hard to fall out the back of the wave.

Fast forward 2 weeks and I came back down to slam the boat and see how the wave was. It was huge and there was no lack of push for sure but the curl had so much mass when my back leg would get hit by the curl I couldn't catch back up. Later we emptied the 1100 pound jumbo sack and the wave was the best ever. There still was some wash being thrown but I know that will get fixed soon and I can't wait to test it again.

I am confident that this is a none issue come production time...Both sides will pump equally and we all benefit from the Garcia Families time and commitment to the sport...Thanks for that Boss!

So, is Tige's plan to make it an add-on option for 2013's and I assume that it will fit 2012's as well?

Thanks for the pics and video!

I really don't know what the full plans are for other boats, nothing concrete anyway.

If you look at the way it mounts onto our deck:

Its really just holes in the swim deck brackets that the device mounts to. Makes me think, and this is NOT official, that if you made one of these for the 2012 RZ2, you could buy it and just drill the holes in the 2009 (or whatever) RZ2 swim deck. Assuming the bracket mounts are in the same place or same width apart.
