Thanks for sharing. I've never been in October. You must have had the place to yourself.

Agreed, Killer. We are planning a trip to Powell next summer. Where is the best place to camp? Which part of the lake is this pic taken?

We stayed the first night at the entrance to Last Chance Bay, the second night in Dungeon Canyon and the rest of the week up in Oak Canyon. Having never been there before I was blown away at a lot of the shoreline being sheer cliffs and at one point was worried about finding a beach. Oak canyon is just around the bend from Rainbow Bridge and has multiple sandy beaches for houseboats. Secret canyon is 5 minutes away and offers awesome cliff jumping opportunities and as I said before, we posted someone at the entrance on a VHF radio and got to ride from the back to the entrance, awesome. The first pic here was taken at Hidden Canyon I believe. It was across the lake from Oak canyon and where we had the houseboat.

If you are going to camp you are going to want to be fairly close to a marina so you can refuel. I know Bullfrog has a dedicated camping area. I'm not sure about Wahweap. Since you are from TX I'm guessing Wahweap is going to be the closest marina for you guys. You could find a spot in warm creek bay and be within a decent distance of Wahweap. When you want to do a day trip to say Rainbow Bridge you could fill up at Damgling rope before heading back to camp.

If you are planning on renting a houseboat with toy tanks disregard the above statements and head towards Last Chance.

Awesome, thanks guys. We are planning on staying for about a week or so and would like to try to see everything, but mainly just all the cool canyons like in the pic above. We will probably be camping the whole time, but that could change.

We will definately be checking out Secret Canyon.
