    DMF Carpet/ Deckadence

I was about to write an email to see if anyone has got the DMF (formally Poseidon product) flooring installed lately and then the phone rang. It was Deckadence calling me back. So now I'm off to ship them my old carpet and hopefully get it made into a nice DMF carpet with the Tige logo on it. More to come.....

Did you have to reglass the floor? Or are you just going to put the DMF over it?

I don't think I will have to reglass or gel coat the floor. It is just bare glass but I'll try to just put the DMF over it and see how it feels. I did scrape all the glue off so it's pretty smooth. The only exeptions are the floor hatch and one spot where two peices of glass matt overlap. I never felt it with the carpet so hopefully I won't with the DMF. I figure worst case, I can fill in spots with regular epoxy. I was even thinking of doing this around the floor hatch trim so it's built up gradually instead of a quick bump where the aluminum track meets the glass floor.

You will be able to feel the seam if you get on the balls of your feet over top of the seam. But it's not really noticeable just walking over it.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

The mat is great! One of my favorite features we have on the boat.

No quote yet. I just sent it off last week so hopefully any day. He did say it's usually between $12-$15 per sq. ft. That would put it right around $400 or so. We'll see.

I'll let all know how it works out with the minor bumps and seams. I figue I will also have to fill in the gap between the hatch and the hatch surround (not sure what else to call it). There is about a 1/2" gap all the way around the hatch which allowed the carpet to wrap the surround and hatch. The DMF will not have a seam for the hatch like the carpet did. Make sense?? I think I will just get some 1/2" aluminum "u" channel and cut it in there. Should work nice.

Or perhaps use a strip of adhesive backed foam and wrap around the hatch. That should keep it snug.

Maybe but I was more worried about feeling the gap and would think you would feel the foam pad between the aluminum. Maybe give it a try.

I would be worried about the hatch rattling and making noise.
