Sold my 20 v and looking at getting a RZ2 or 22VE. Just gotta decide on a 09 (like the tower) or newer. Have heard some pros and cons on the tige touch. Some of the reasons we wanted to upgrade is we had to physically fill our ballast, wife wants a heater, easier tower to collapse and bigger boat. The Tige touch seems cool but is it any better than having more manual buttons as on a 09 (reliability-conveinence). Really appreciate input

One of the reasons I love our RZ2 is because it does not have Touch. I think 09 was a good year with PCM engine, the new tower (which has never been substantially changed in recent years), nice graphics, and great gel coat options (e.g., white top gel with black cap). There is an issue with SpeedSet from 09 -- the updates fix most but not all of the issues.

Good luck finding an 09 for a good price though!

Both are great boats.I haven't had any issues with Tige touch, but my boat isn't even two years old yet.I personally like the styling of the RZ2.Both boats make excellent wakes and waves. The Alpha Z tower gets a little heavy with 4 Tower speakers though.Good Luck!
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Once you look at 09's, then you see what you can get for a leftover 2012...you might just go new. It seems that the recent used boats are riding the coattails of new boats a little too tightly, IMHO.

I find it reassuring Though it makes it harder to resist that Z3 urge ...

I agree, especially if your dealer is close by and you can take advantage of the Service360 the new boat would have.

If it were me, I'd buy an "old" rz2 or a z3. The "old" rz2's are 1/2 the cost of the z3's. My 2007 has been great. I like my tower. As you can see, you can throw a ton of stuff on it. I made an additional rack to go down the middle of the tower to hold the tube, my longboards, knee board, and other shortboards. As you can see, the "old" towers can have a boom attached. If you have beginners, booms can be helpful. With a "new" tower, you will have to go with a traditional boom and have it all over the back of the boat. As for the height of the "new" towers, you have about 6 feet of clearance. The standing woman holding the baby is 5'4". It's very roomy compared to the new tower. You put the "new" graphics on like I did, a new smaller swim deck, custom ballast that fills really fast, etc...... I'd be glad answer any questions I can about my 2007.

I don't know anything about it. But I would buy it if I could. I think it looks like a great boat at a great price.

The tall tower is especially nice for tower speakers and for tall guys to not bust their noggin. I love that tower, it is sturdy and has held up over the test of time. The only gripes I remember is when guys with the colored uprights would have the powder coat flake because it rubs when you put the tower down. Otherwise, it seems like it has been pretty problem free.

1/2 price in 5 years seems about right. But I don't think it would be easy to find one for half price of the one I referenced. That would be about 36K. Anyone got a 2007 RZ2 for 36K?

Thanks for the input. We had the taller tower on our 07 but like the ease of lowering the new tower plus the bimini seems easier. Just not sure if the tige touch makes a big of enough difference to go with the newer model. I beleive the ballast systems are the same-some under floor board and some in storage area. We need the ease of filling sacks up either by pushing a button or a screen. Thanks

My personal opinion is that the Tige touch and any touch screen is not going to withstand the test of time that good old switches are going to. But that has been beat up multiple times in many threads. I love my rocker switches, personally, and have not seen a single major advantage to the touch screen.

I can have the cruise control list my name....Neato! It can remember my ballast settings too...but frankly, IMHO, if you can't remember how you like it, you aren't going to know the difference between 75% ballast and 100%.

If you are into a camera on the tower and can get it to come through the screen, now that is pretty cool. But I am not sure you can get that on the 09 version.

But the entire industry has gone with the touch screens, so I am obviously hosed when it comes to newer boats. Unless I get a Mastercraft X30.

I think the real reason behind the evolution of touch screens is that it must be less labor to install and they make more money for it.

BTW, does anyone know what the cost of replacement of the Tige Touch is? I have heard of some being replaced, but usually under warranty.

I'm pretty sure perfect pass does this now too (my stargazer will let me program in a bunch of riders). Of course we never use it either because it's easier to just hit the up and down arrows to adjust.
